Uh...this is a little awkward because, well, despite the fact that my potato of a computer can only run the LE version of Skyrim so I can't actually have Taliesin as a follower for myself, and also despite the fact that I'm usually not interested in Altmer characters in the games...I've become very fascinated with Taliesin as a character anyway. My sincerest congratulations on crafting such a fantastic follower character!
Since for now I can only experience him vicariously through clips from others playing (I'm working on saving up enough to upgrade my computer, though, so there's that!), I hope you don't mind me asking a few questions that might be a bit broad or easily answerable through the first few moments of playthrough with him?
So far I haven't seen anyone with an Orc LDB interact with him, so my questions are: Does Taliesin have any experience with or knowledge about basic Orc culture and/or some of the rather rigid gender roles of their society? And also, how would he react to a LDB that is quite gruff and terse in public but more open and understanding privately?
Regardless of if you want to answer these questions or not (I understand if you think it would spoil too much of the experience of playing beside him), I'd like to thank you very much for all your and his VA's hard work crafting Taliesin! He's an absolute delight. :)
Hello there! I'm sorry it took me a while to get to your question.
Taliesin doesn't have a lot of knowledge about the Orcs, outside of reports from other agents. He knows they're warriors and powerful in battle, that's the main focus on his knowledge. When a LDB is an Orc, he'll imply about them breaking his bones should they mistake his offer as a flirt.
And when around Orc holds, he'll mention the Thalmor not bothering to gain any alignment with them.
But while traveling with an Orc LDB, he expresses interest in how their own affections for each other might differ from other races. Something he doesn't have access to ask on the whim.
For now, that's all Taliesin has towards Orcs, I do hope to add more in the future. There are a lot of races to choose from, which also requires reading up on their lore and cultures. There's not a lot for Orcs, so I - the writer - as well as Pat's experience - as the Co-writer- with Orcs as well, difficult to write fore, but we try to get some content for them.
