Most likely not. Could be her own bias as a Sailor, and having her own interactions with pirates that mostly result in her cargo being stolen. Ryce sees Val as a walking red flag.

Do your followers have any favorite scenery or biomes?
Taliesin likes city biomes with large gardens. He use to enjoy sitting outside in the sunshine or on a cool evening enjoying the aroma of blooming hydrangeas.
Despite growing up surrounded by hills and mountains, Nayir is more drawn to dense forests. Probably some instincts from his Wood Elf genetics, but he wants to be surrounded by nature. Trees that are taller than him, foliage thicker than blood!
Ryce loves the ocean. She loves endless bodies of water and the spray of mist on her face. The lapping of water on wood is very soothing for her. But she does miss the desert, especially the feel of dry sand under her feet.
I can't take amazing screenshots, but there are a few that I manage to take that I'm proud of.
You know the Dev Aveza skyship mod? How would Tally, Ryce, and Nayir react to flying places on a big ass flying ship?
Skyships have been around since the 2nd era, though not used as much since they haven't made an appearance since Oblivion and Skyrim. So it's hard to say if they're still around or not.
Taliesin and Ryce would find it as a more convenient means of travel, though Ryce would prefer traveling by water and Taliesin by land on horseback. Nayir might be a bit of a challenge to convince to board one since he was raised in more barbaric surroundings.
As tall as Nayir might be, I think he'd be a little afraid of heights. XD
