The first time I met Erandur, he was drinking and enjoying himself to The Dragonborn Comes song at the Windpeak inn.

He caught my attention that way, and also because he was a dark elf, and I wanted to meet some other dark elves in the game. Once his quest was finished, I thought a visit to the Temple of Mara would please him, since he's always amazed by various places, but he didn't react at all once we were inside, so we just gazed at the wall in silence. I only learned later that he actually do have a quote line about the temple.
