the boy’s actions are still rash and full of emotion that obi-wan has spent years pushing out of his motivations ( yet, his emotions lead the galaxy into the darkness that now lingers, this darkness that luke now has to bring the galaxy out of, or so they believe ). his motivations are pure, though, unguided by substantial proof. however, if luke believes that his friends are in trouble, he will not be stopped; he would never forgive himself if his friends were hurt and he was able to stop that - obi-wan knows that. but luke isn’t ready, not yet, and there’s so much that could go wrong - a bad feeling, one might say, that perhaps han and leia aren’t truly in the danger luke believes he sees. there’s no way to say that to luke, he’s beyond listening to that.
❛ luke, your training is not finished. leaving now will stunt your growth in the force. you’re not prepared. ❜oh, how he hates saying these words to the boy who has only worked his hardest, done the best he can with the late start and bad heritage looming over his young mind. the boy is bustling around his fighter, not appearing to listen to obi-wan’s words. he sighs. ❛ luke, you cannot go. it is not your time. no one can truly tell the future, it is always in motion. ❜
