TW for gore and dismemberment. In which a large number of Steves beat the shit out of the Void Steves-
[TSS Sabre pov, written 4/24/22]
This was it. Our worst nightmare. Both the RQ and SS versions of Void Steve were here in MHA.
This was our doomsday. Every single living thing here must now brace for death. Our collective ends were coming, if I and RQ Sabre don't do something.
I could feel it in every atom of my being, he was here.
I had spent days considering this scenario. The end of this world.
I wasn't going to let this world succumb to them, I couldn't afford to.
"RQ! Wake up!" I shook him awake; it was late in the morning.
He looked at me, annoyed, before feeling his presence.
"Code V. Time to face them."
My duplicate got ready as I sent the message to the Steve group chat. 'Code V. Don't let Time, Elemental, or Galaxy be seen by them. All 6 of you, get in the bunker. The rest, prepare the Redstone, we'll need to set up an energy sucking machine down one road. Let me know where, RQ and I will keep them busy until I get the signal that you're ready"
Of course, I made a few more spelling mistakes than I showed. I had a lot on my mind.
"Okay, ready. Now, what the heck are these...'Rainbow Wings'? You never really told me," RQ had his old white hoodie on, so the Void Steves wouldn't be able to tell who is who.
"They're basically elytra. Just use these fireworks to fly alongside me. I'll be merged with the Galaxy Sword. Let's teleport to the nearest building where the Void Steves are, then I'll check the group chat for where the Redstone machine will be located. I have it on vibrate so as soon as they're done with that I'll be aware and we can start directing them over there."
I pulled out the Rainbow Wings and Galaxy Sword, handing a couple stacks of fireworks to RQ.
"Do you think this'll really work?" he was already sweating.
"Can't say for certain. We've learned from our mistakes, but so have they. This is our only chance at making up for all our stupid decisions. It's all or nothing now."
I grabbed his hand after he attached the Rainbow Wings to his back. "Galaxy Sword! Teleport us near Void!"
Our dorm room at U.A. disappeared in a purple haze.
We arrived to a gruesome scene. Buildings were practically disintegrating, flames everywhere. I could hear screams from every direction.
I took a deep breath. We were at the top of a building not yet harmed by either Steve.
I pulled out my phone, checking the group chat.
Everyone was cooperating, the Time and Elemental Steves and Memory Steve were with SS Galaxy in the bunker and Illusion was already out on the battlefield. I got a message from SS Rainbow about where the machine was being set up.
Good. Now let's hope we don't get killed by the Void Steves…
I put it away, glancing at RQ. He nodded.
He jumped off, flying to the opposite side of the road, to another roof.
Then as one we shouted at the top of our lungs.
"HEY VOID! MISSED ME?"
The Void Steves looked practically identical. One turned towards each of us.
"Sabre?" they growled in unison, turning into a deep laugh of amusement, "you really think you can stop us?"
They flew closer to one another.
Then each spoke of the past.
"We could have done so well together. You would have been a perfect soldier in my army. In fact, your core is still infected, isn't it? How's Shadow Sabre, hmmm? I bet he's been LOTS OF FUN!" the one turned towards RQ spoke, voice dripping with malice.
The Void Steve I was faced with was SS Void. His red eyes were bright with pure wrath. "If you expect me to fall at your feet just because you've got that sword, forget it! You and Galaxy NEVER won! I have been sorting through Galaxy's memories for centuries! I know him better than you know yourself! And now I see neither of you are useful. I should have killed him and those stupid sons of his years ago!"
With that, he threw a fireball at me. I expected this, deflecting it perfectly back towards him. He simply ducked, avoiding it. I could see RQ Void summoning Darkness, but RQ let Shadow Sabre out, making Void pause.
I saw that as my cue.
"GALAXY SWORD! MERGE WITH ME!" I yelled as loud as I could, raising my only weapon against this world destroying entity. Lightning stuck the point, and I screamed to the heavens.
Of course, the merge didn't hurt. I wanted to distract RQ Void as long as possible.
I could feel the power coursing through my veins. I jumped off the tall building, flying easily.
"You're wrong, Void! Both of you will see what we are capable of! Come and get us!" I flew down a random street, a fireball barely missing me.
With that, RQ took off. RQ Shadow Sabre was left behind to control the Darkness. I didn't trust the guy, but he was our best option at the time.
"Did you really have to scream like that?" RQ asked, dodging another fireball.
"No, but I wanted to be ✨dramatic✨" I gave him a goofy smile before I turned around to attack.
We kept flying through the streets, ones we chose specifically for this scenario. We kept as high as possible, to avoid destruction of the city. It didn't always work, the fireballs I deflected or threw would usually land on the ground.
At one point, RQ spotted Shadow and RQ Dark teaming up, the Darkness Void summoned in a single file behind them. "Look!" he pointed down towards them, "I can't believe they're actually working together!"
We were tired, but that lifted our spirits.
"SEE VOID?!" I addressed the RQ version, "WE made that happen! Villains and heroes can work together! You used to be a hero, right? You know what can happen! How about you consider changing for once, maybe this time we'll let you live!"
He just cackled, summoning a fireball and throwing it.
I swerved to avoid the fiery ball of death.
"Really?! That talk? Now? Don't make me laugh! Oh wait, you already have! You look even stupider than the other! What do you think will happen?! We will rule this world! Darkness WILL reign supreme! Void will be a name feared across the universes! All thanks to that lightning that brought me back to life!"
SS Void laughed, making a crater in a large building, aiming to topple it on top of us. I shouted a warning to anyone nearby as it fell.
I didn't have any powers that could stop that. Galaxy could summon cobblestone, at least that would stop these buildings from falling! I couldn't place blocks fast enough to stop the mass destruction.
I avoided the falling debris as I saw RQ escape out of the corner of my eye.
"Sabre truly is an idiot. He didn't even figure out Galaxy was Elemental and Time's father! What a dumb chicken. I can't wait 'til you're finally out of my way! Then I'll locate that silly little bunker and destroy Galaxy once and for all! You made my own son betray me! And now you must die!"
I could see SS Void's anger boiling over when he talked about Memory. I didn't really think about that, but ouch. That's gotta hurt.
I flew off down the street, getting far enough away to continue this banter.
I felt my phone vibrate.
It was time to end this.
RQ gave me a concerned look as he swooped close. "Seriously, man? Are you actually gonna discuss Memory's betrayal?? That's a death wish right there!"
"Yes," I said calmly, as a crater formed nearby, we flew off. "The thing is ready, by the way. We'll need to start heading over. I want to make SS Void angry; he'll forget that the thing is possible and hopefully we'll get both across all of it without it being destroyed. I'll stop talking about Memory, actually. I don't need Void destroying the thing."
"Good choice. I don’t want to see you roasted."
RQ and I flew faster, getting ahead of the Voids' destruction.
"Hey! Get back here!" one shouted.
"Nah I think we're good!" RQ shouted back.
We slowed down slightly, making sure both Void Steves could see us. We wanted to get them to waste their anger and powers on us before we reached the machine. We danced around them, letting them tire themselves out a bit.
I noticed their fireballs getting slightly smaller. That meant it was time. I didn't want to do this for too long, otherwise they could catch on. We had to keep them in the heat of the battle, make ourselves as unpredictable as possible.
I gave RQ the signal, and we split off to different sides of the street. We stayed close to the buildings. If one of the fireballs or craters got to the machine, we'd be ruined.
As we turned onto the street with the machine, I could feel the Galaxy Sword's powers waning. I wouldn't have much longer. But I didn't hesitate. Instead, I pushed harder.
"I hope you two never see the light of day again!" I yelled. That was the signal to start the machine.
Both Void Steves cackled. They started making arrogant and rude remarks.
Good.
RQ and I crossed over, switching sides. We needed to keep them in the street, or else it won't work. But also keep their attention away from it.
As the battle raged on, I felt another vibration from my phone. All our allies were in position.
I crashed into the building with the force of a fireball.
Everything ached. I was sure my back was bleeding. My breathing quickened. My vision was slightly blurry, my ears rang. Goddammit, I got distracted!
I opened my inventory, scarfing up a steak. I felt my injuries healing.
Not fast enough! I could see a bright light coming right at me.
I rolled, barely dodging the fireball.
My hearing and vision returned to normal. I could hear RQ shouting, trying to reach me. But RQ Void had blocked him with Darkness. No one would be coming to help us. We specifically instructed everyone to stay away from the battle.
I stood up shakily, getting a grip on my surroundings again.
At least SS Void hasn't noticed the weakening from the machine.
I ran, avoiding a smoldering crater.
It was close to the end of the street, just a little longer and we'd be home free.
I decided to not take my chances. I backed up, running straight towards an open window in the building over. I saw Void's fireball coming right for me. I jumped, feeling the heat against my back.
I grabbed the edge of the window, pulling myself up quickly.
I couldn't believe it worked! I sprinted with all my might, eating a steak to finish healing.
Destruction went off all around me.
I kept running through rooms, jumping to the next building.
Finally, I was at the end of the street.
I jumped out a window, landing awkwardly on top of a garbage bin.
I saw the Steves in the distance. Then RQ grabbed me, giving me a lift to the final battlefield.
I gulped down my fear.
We would see the death of our foes or our own here.

[3rd person pov]
After the Void Steves have been pummeled by the Steves and Sabres, SS Sabre locks them in a machine he made on the fly.
They're in separate areas, so one can be let out without the other one also being let out.
The first thing to be done is have RQ Time remove RQ Void's immortality. However, the result is different.
In Void's place, stands Seer, the Blue Steve he used to be.
He wakes quickly, confused.
This is not Void Steve.
This is an innocent Steve.
RQ Sabre realizes what happened and immediately turns off his side of the machine.
Seer is confused, not just by the new world but the strange people surrounding him.
And he knows what kind of machine he was in.
But not why.
He asks many questions, and RQ Sabre explains the basics - new world they're stuck in, he and SS Sabre are not Steves, the residents of this world aren't Steves either, and that Seer is from the past.
Sabre asks Orange Steve to come and chat with Seer, as Seer had become the First Hero but was currently in his Blue Steve form.
Orange shows him how this world allows them to shift from their Rainbow and normal selves.
And then they leave the main area to talk more.
Meanwhile, SS Sabre is wracking his brain for how to deal with SS Void in a way that won't destroy him completely but also leave him either permanently weak or completely neutralized.
But he didn't want to risk Galaxy Steve.
Sure, it could work. He just needed one to absorb the other and it'd all work out.
But how? He didn't know if he could build a machine that would force Void to absorb Galaxy. He didn't want to risk it.
But if Void is destroyed, what does that mean for Galaxy? Will his powers be severely weakened? Will his memory fade more?
Then SS had an idea. A stupid idea, but an idea nonetheless.
Bottles. With enough glass bottles, Void will disappear!
Just like Dark Steve after Sabre and Ultra Steve defeated him as Chaos, Void's energy could possibly be put into bottles!
The real question was if. And if so, how many would be needed?
SS doubted that one would condense all of Void. He's just too powerful, even in such a weak state at the moment.
He had to try. It was too risky to wait for Galaxy to get there, and if it took too long Void would get stronger.
He built the extra part as quickly as possible, not saying a word to the Steves questioning him.
"Anyone got an empty bottle? One from our world?" He finally spoke.
"Uh yeah, here?" The Yellow Steve with the leather chest plate said questioningly, passing the bottle up to the player.
"Dude what are you doing?" RQ Sabre asked, walking right up to the machine.
"Bottling Void, what does it look like?"
"Ooooh! Like you did with me that one time and with Dark!" SS Rainbow realized what his friend was planning.
SS Sabre smiled.
"Exactly! I don't know if this works, but I'd guess that one won't be enough. Hopefully this actually does something good. Stand back."
With that, he placed the bottle in the chest. Lightning shot from the sky, a loud and bright event.
This caught Seer's and Orange Steve's attention, and they made their way back quickly.
With all of this, SS Void sprung awake. He was already locked in and couldn't be heard over the lightning.
Once it died down, the once powerful Steve knew he was at his end.
All remaining energy left in his broken body vanished, leaving him coughing, kneeling on the ground.
He wasn't going to last much longer, one way or another.
"Sabre? What in Origin's name is going on?" Seer meant to address RQ but SS Sabre explained himself first.
Seer was concerned by the fact that SS Void was kneeling on the ground, severely injured, and close to death.
But if he is evil, he guessed it was for the greater good. He didn't know him anyways.
Earlier on, Orange had accidentally revealed that RQ Void was in fact Seer and that led to the poor Blue Steve to have an identity crisis.
This was more important though.
"YES! It worked!" SS Sabre pulled out a bottle full of nasty dark liquid, unlike anything any of them had ever seen. He quickly put it in his inventory, before he screwed up somehow like with Dark's powers.
"HAH! Take that! Not so high and mighty now, huh!?" The player teased.
"What now?" RQ Time asked, "I dealt with RQ Void. And now SS Void seems basically dead. Do you want more bottles?"
"Yep. Let's end this."
RQ Time proceeded to take out a cauldron and started pouring water out of bottles.
"Uh, why the cauldron?"
"In case we had to go back to the World Below somehow and someone got set on fire."
"Ummm okay? Thanks?" Sabre grabbed the bottles, about to put them in the chest.
"WAIT!" Void shouted.
Sabre paused.
"You can't stop the inevitable, man. Sooner or later, you will die right here. You never deserved mercy, but I'll spare you this one moment."
Void coughed, spitting out blood.
"Spare me your pity. Do you really want this to end? Or is there some part of you that longs for the thrill? You did well."
Void laughed, the tension rising.
"Do you really want this to end, Sabre? You must be bored out of your mind, not having any danger like me around~"
His playful tone shifted to one of fury quickly.
"Do you really want to let me die this way? My son betraying me for my enemy? To die with nothing? "
'I never betrayed you.'
"Memory?!"
The Steve appeared from nowhere, walking right up to Void.
'You betrayed me. Before you showed up, I had a chance. A new life, where people actually appreciate me instead of fearing me. I was never allowed that before. No one knew me, because you made me erase their memories! No longer will I tolerate that isolation.'
Memory Steve turned toward Sabre. He simply nodded.
"Are you sure?"
Another nod.
"Okay I guess. Void, any last words?"
"Fuck. You. "
Memory pretended not to see the pain in his father's eyes. He turned away as Sabre placed another bottle into the chest.
He quickly turned back around, though, as this was accompanied by screaming.
The machine was literally tearing him apart.
One arm and one leg were slowly disappearing, replaced by bloody stumps. Memory looked away again.
The scream from Void rang out loud, louder than the lightning itself.
When it ended, Void still stayed there, missing limbs now. He panted hard, blood loss bringing him ever closer to death's door.
"Okay that's enough. I'm putting these last two in at the same time, I can't watch this any more," SS Sabre said, horror trickling down his spine.
He quickly took out the new bottle which had a slightly different look from the previous one.
"I DON'T NEED YOUR PITY!" Void shouted, trying and failing to stand. There was a sadness in his voice he didn't dare acknowledge.
Sabre swapped the bottles out, praying that this nightmare would end quickly as he bolted away from the lightning.
Nobody was happy after Void's screams died down.
Sabre was starting to wonder if that really was the best option, or if maybe this was too much.
Did Void really get what he deserved?
It didn't matter now.
They were all scarred from the unexpected dismemberment.
