Slack is still growing and very popular, but some feel that instead of killing the email deluge, it's just adding a deluge of Slack chatter.
With only two years in business, Slack has surged in popularity with 2.3 million users (including me) and a projected annual revenue of more than $64 million. Slack’s growth has shown that even seemingly ancient technologies like chat can still be improved, particularly when it comes to using instant messaging for work. Slack is an alternative for email communications and small teams tend to adapt more efficiently. With that said, I wonder if big Fortune 500 companies will fully adopt to this technology as a company-wide communications tool since there have been many critics lately highlighting gaps to get to that point. One of the comments in this Fast Company article, suggests that expectations for everyone at work to be always-on could get out of hand. What do you think?
