❛ HAA! IYYAAAA! ❜ boy punched and kicked make shift dummy panting so his shoulders rose and fell as he heaved , out of breath. eyes seemed to lighten and smile broaden at Uncle's due praise. for a time being forgetting exhaustion as he launched as his waist hugging him. ❛ thank's kohakujii! I'm gonna be a great slayer someday! just like mom and just like you! ❜ he looks up round cheeks glowing. ❛ promise we'll fight together forever? ❜
Kohaku nodded, smile plastered all over his features, beaming with pride and happiness for his nephew. He was growing so fast and into a strong young boy.
❝ Very good Hisui! ❞ Kohaku never held back when it came to praise someone’s achievements, no matter how small they were. As a young boy himself there had been nothing else he had desired but to become a good demon slayer like his sister and comrades and also receive praise from his strict father.
He had fought hard to receive any kind of praise from him. But it was so hard.
Therefore he had made it his policy to not be so strict to the point one would doubt their skills. Of course, this didn’t mean he would send someone out to the field if they weren’t prepared -that was even worse- but...a small praise? In his eyes it couldn’t hurt.
When the boy launched and hugged his waist, Kohaku couldn’t help but laugh and then smile. Hand rested on Hisui’s head, patting it softly. He had been happy when Hisui had decided to follow the steps of his mother’s family -not that he wouldn’t have been less happy if he had chosen to become a monk-, deep down he had always wished Hisui would choose this life but had of course decided to leave the choice to the boy.
❝ Of course, Hisui. That is a promise. ❞ he smiled once again and then picked up the boy, turning him upside down, head towards the floor as he tickled his tummy.
