What's wrong with Slash? I don't mind spoilers.

The film opens with Neil’s fanfic. He pairs a hero with a villain which is fine, but it gets super gross when the villain uses toxins to take away agency from the hero. The toxin then makes the hero make out with the villain against his will. This is just the start of the problematic shit the film does.

Neil’s sexuality is in question, he goes as far as to pretend to be 18 (he is 15) and tries to hook up with a 38 year old man. It’s in this scene it’s revealed that Neil isn’t actually gay but he wants to be because he wants to fit in.

He also has a friend in the movie who puts him in horrible situations, she tries to out his fanfic to his parents, forces him to take E, and then hooks up with him then blames it on the drugs & she rejects him.

There is a ton more crap that it did, but I feel like these are the more problematic things the film did.

I didn’t! I planned on buying the blu-ray but I’ve been low on funds lately. I’ll have to check it out soon.
