Slash.FBX lore (TW: mentions of violence and death) (Yes the story takes place in-universe)
Original art post here
Before Slash.FBX became what they are today, they used to be a normal Porygon2. Their life was easy in the digital realm, but that peaceful life didn’t last forever. One day, they were infected by malware. As a result of the malware corrupting their software, they evolved into Porygon-Z. However, their physical state was different from that of a Porygon-Z that evolved with a Dubious Disk. The malware had corrupted them so much that their body was falling apart. To save themselves, the Porygon-Z decided to use a 3D model of a Sandslash as a new body. The model changed after the Porygon-Z entered it, gaining spiral eyes and a red and blue tail with detached segments. The model file was named “Slash.FBX.” The Pokemon enjoyed this name, and it decided to use it.
What Slash.FBX didn’t know at the time was that the file they chose was being used for an indie game. The Sandslash model was meant to be one of the characters in the game. The developer of the game was unaware of the Pokemon using the model, and he inserted it into his game. Slash.FBX was resting during the time and was unaware of what was happening. When the developer started up the game, the malware that had infected Slash.FBX suddenly awoke from its dormant state and became active. This caused Slash.FBX great pain. The pain eventually became too much for them, and they turned hostile. It began tearing apart the other playable characters the developer had programmed in. It began destroying the props around it, desperately wishing for the pain to just stop. Everything was soon destroyed, yet the pain continued. They wondered why the pain wouldn’t stop. Then it hit them. Slash.FBX turned to the screen and stared the developer down.
“It’s him,” Slash.FBX thought. “He’s the one putting me through this.”
They believed that their pain would not end as long as the developer kept trying to play the game. At the moment, Slash.FBX could only think of one way to end it. They manifested themselves into the physical world. In a fit of pain-induced rage, Slash.FBX attacked the developer. They knocked the human to the ground and began slashing at him with their sharp claws. Slash.FBX’s own rage drowned out the sounds of the developer’s pain. When they finally calmed down and came back to their senses, they were greeted with a gory sight. They had practically ripped apart the man. It was a crime scene of their own making. A wave of guilt and horror washed over the Pokemon. When they heard the sounds of sirens growing louder and saw red and blue lights come through the windows, Slash.FBX quickly retreated back into the digital realm. When the police entered the home to investigate the scene, they were met with the developer’s body and a message on the computer.
The game was originally confiscated by police, but it was eventually stolen and leaked on the internet by an unidentified group.
Ever since that day, Slash.FBX has been trying to hide themselves from humanity. It makes the game it has been bound to as scary as possible in order to deter people from playing, and it hides itself deep inside the game. They do all of this in hopes no one will encounter them, and no one else will meet a fate as gruesome as that of the developer’s.
His name is not misspelt, btw. (Ninetales -> nine + tales)
I did have to trace quite a bit for this one, unfortunately. Ninetales is hard to draw.
lore coming soon, btw. Or maybe I’ll wait until I start writing the entire story (Yep, there’s gonna be a story with Slash.FBX, Tales.FBX, and one more important character (who is the protagonist). Maybe more.)
