Maybe not in London or US but in Brazil and other warmer countries where we produce your food, chocolate, coffee and fabrics. Companies like Nestle and Lacta (Mondelez) were investigated and known for using child labor in 2020 Pará, Brazil ( they also go through the names of Olam International & Barry Callebaut - one of the most expensive chocolates ) Hershey's was also sued for employing child labor in 2015. Slavery. While touring out Charleston, the history of slavery and its aftermath is unavoidably obvious. These are photos of a slave’s cabin which housed an entire slave family on the plantation and of the unmarked graveyard for the slaves of this plantation. — The torturous enslavement of Africans boosted the US economy. After their horrific "Middle Passage," over 40% of the African slaves who reached the British colonies before the American Revolution passed through South Carolina. Almost all of these slaves entered the Charleston port, before being sold in Charleston's slave markets. Eventually, slave owners learned that it was better to keep slaves alive for more work to be done and to be able to enslave the children of the slaves.
