Harry Potter is overrated

I feel like the reason it’s so hyped up all the time is because we first read them as kids and as kids the fact that the Hogwarts world was so immersive and like nothing we’d ever read about before was mind blowing. But I think that if I was to read them again now it wouldn’t be at all like it was when I read them for the first time.

I do think the nostalgia though is part of what makes them great. I grew up always waiting for the next book to be published and would preorder them all. So it’s also hard to say they’re overrated when they were such a big part of my childhood, but I do feel for someone who didn’t spend as much time fanning over them as I did they could easily be seen as overrated.
