Of course, there were still a few 'what if's' that floated around his mind at times, and he was sure there always would be new ones that came and went. It was something that happened to everyone, as there was always something to regret. As for Isaac, a lot of the things that weighed heavily on him he had no say in at all. What if Ryan had never lost the baby? What if his mother never died? Those what if's would spiral around his head and leave him to only think but one thing that he allowed himself to think about was an interesting 'what if' What if it had been Alex that was adopted out of the family instead of him?
Would Isaac literally be Alex? The short-tempered guy, who knew little about a lot, and was branded a sandwich eating lax-bro? Isaac didn't let himself think about that too much just because he knew that if that were the case, then Alex would have had to live Isaac's life, and he wouldn't wish that on anyone. Something else that bothered him about that picture was Aria...would he have had horrible memories of the girl? From where Isaac stood, Aria was one of his favorite people. Like everyone she had her fair share of mistakes, but there was nothing you couldn't admire about her. She carried herself well, and she was probably Isaac's role model. He looked up to her so much because she never gave up on him. Everyone else had, and she had every right to, but she didn't. However, Alex had a whole different perspective on her. He probably took her for granted considering he never thought he was going to lose her, or nothing like what actually happened in their life would happen. And when Isaac first got to Bella Nova the siblings didn't get along at all. He didn't want to think that would be the case if Isaac grew up in Alex's place.
There were so many things to wonder about what his life would be like, and most of it scared him to death. In a way he was almost happy that it was him that had the problems with his immune system when he was a baby and not Alex. Yes, he had been through a lot but it was what made Isaac, Isaac. He was where he was today because of it and that's all that mattered.
