Houndleap was originally known as Sleekshine until the fateful day where he, as a young warrior, encountered a dog and in a panic led it back to WindClan's camp. Two of his clanmates died in that attack, and his leader (Bloomstar, an OC) renamed him Houndleap to dishonour him. He became socially isolated in his Clan and eventually found love with the ShadowClan molly Dustbreeze. One night, a Clanmate followed him to his meeting spot and saw him with the ShadowClan cat. In a panic, afraid of what his Clan would do when they caught him breaking the code, he killed that clanmate. Dustbreeze was horrified and told him she didn't want anything to do with him anymore.
At the gathering, she revealed the truth of their affair and the murder of the Clanmate. Houndleap was not invited to this particular gathering, and when Bloomstar arrived home she had Houndleap executed. Dustbreeze eventually realized she was pregnant by Houndleap and had to raise the kits alone, while being scorned for her breaking of the code and dating a murderer (which obviously he wasn't at the time but yknow)
