I just, I'm so glad they did this I can't believe I never thought about that, with Lars, like I knew he wanted to care and that the angry jerk thing was sort of a defense mechanism but I just hadn't looked at it this deeply... And to think they'd go into so much detail with this episode... It's all there and I see it now oh my god... Bless you. Bless you.
omg u all i'm gonna cry but no it's so good it's so genuinely great
like this is sooo in-depth and has both the having-depression angle and the caring-about-someone-with-depression angle both are hugely important things to speak about and truly one of the many Most-Important things it does that is so rarely done is, instead of discussing depression in a Special Aside Footnote way or having it come up once and then never be relevant again, it's a whole normal episode in the normal format and it's all about depression always being there cuz like it would have to have been going on for lars for a long time beforehand and like. also for a major side character to have the issues w/mental illness and you know they're not gonna be put into this one-dimensional role because of it
i'm very very invested in it all and so glad to talk about it and/or prompt other people to talk about it and paul villeco said a lot of love went into the episode and you can see it every second my god it is amazing
