Oh, how she loves the FRESHLY MINTED! New spaces and places, Alice finds, all these in-betweens doesn’t she? Wakefulness and asleep, and now, this stranger world that sits like Wonderland, a place that could be lily-padded to if she knew the way. And she did, now ; thanks to that ever present pull that seems to exist, threads that hint at the existence of something greater. Alice has always been ever keen when sniffing out something that isn’t meant to belong, but she’s never properly considered that there might, too, be things out there that know and seek her out. That her presence within the dream of someone else might not be the solo exploration that she’s always considered it, Alice, who drapes herself in the conscious horrors and highs of humanity’s loneliness, she never expected to find a demon in his prime, stalking her spaces, sniffing her out.
He intrudes, and for the first time, she hasn’t quite the slick-offered response she’s accustomed to. A coiling, curling flicker of caution, licking to life within her chest bids her to stay still. They say you dream of faces you know, or people you’ve seen, even in fleeting form ; she poses as this picture show requires, how it continues on despite HIS EXISTENCE, which sits like a scar upon this mental landscape, holding her part right up until he disappeared. What an awfully curious man, Alice now finding her determination from where it rested and bloomed within her chest. Perhaps he was no looking glass Bandersnatch, but he could prove himself formidable, just from the taste the air holds now that he’s gone. What a bright dose of excitement it all injects, Alice ready to go digging, checking handles and doors and whispering promises through the latches before one opens up, and deposits her here.
But the here still remains vague, with, Alice in her new pressed dark clothes, slipping down hallways, past paintings on the wall. Dante’s 7 circles of hell, it felt like, inquisitive gaze turning down to peek into closed rooms, and finding empty class chairs stacked primly, in wait. IS THIS WHERE her dreaming friend lays? A bell that rings, and Alice, she knew to fall in line, to pose a better part of what’s pouring in, students, it feels like, all done up in uniform to match what she’s got on ( how awfully lucky! ), following with the flow and best off, listening, though a moment flickers, alarm bells screaming, turning her head to catch a stare latched upon her, in weighted form. It’s him! That monster of some other dreamscape, her startled expression forming a smile in the next, a finger pressed to her lips. Shhh. No need for a fight here! As she slips into an open door, claiming a seat within its near deserted back row.
