pi and nepeta sleuthdads dynamic i think is by far my absolute favorite
Stabdads is the best Homestuck AU
Especially when Sluethdads are involved.
ANYWAY here’s some stupid MCS doodles I did when I didn’t have anything else to do...
For the art request: could you draw Sleuth and Kanaya dressing up as spoopy vampires in preparation for Halloween?
This was a fun request haha <3
I had a thought about stabdads/sleuthdads+schemastuck
Because I headcanon HD as a witch for rn, and I mean obv Sleuth's a vampire, which really all I can think of is Granny Weatherwax's very practical attitude towards vamps
But then I thought about Kanaya/Rose, which can also be seen as a witch+a vampire
And for some reason that pissed me off like oh my god? How did I not see this? But then it started being funny to me because like
Imagine a young Sleuth trying to date HD, but she's really not putting up with him getting way too into the 'dark creature of the night' schtick and just dumps his ass and his heart is broken forever and always (except not really and they become great friends after a few years of awkwardness)
And then Sleuth sees Kanaya and Rose and immediately goes into parental worry overdrive because oh fuck how much did he influence his kid did he somehow set her up for heartbreak oh god he has to help her but at the same time respect her agency he doesn't know how to teenage girl
So there's Sleuth, just awkwardly, "So, witches, you know? They're, um, very witchy and oh my demigoddess Kanaya don't make the same mistakes I did trying to be like your old man isn't worth it"
And Kanaya is just very confused and "Father Thank You But I Think I Am Making My Own Mistakes? Not That I Would Call Dating Rose A Mistake"
And Rose is very delighted when she learns about all of this and insists on asking Sleuth a lot of very uncomfortable psych questions and smiles at him at random moments just to see him panic
"We all remember that day, you know! Your dad stood on the Arbitor's statue, shouting and inspiring all those people to get up and fight back! Aye, a sight to see indeed. Couldn't believe it myself: the brat I'd chased off of the rafters countless times - a hero in this dump of a city!"
Kanaya stared at her grandmother's moirail, surprised. She was aware of the various good deeds her father had done before her birth, but she'd never heard Kankri talk so fondly about Sleuth. It must have been impressive for the aging Dersite to actually smile about. She imagined how it must have looked - her father hanging from the arm of the statue, wings spread and determined expression as he used his trademark charm to win over what amounted to a small army. Shaking her head, Kanaya smiled slightly. It seemed a huge contrast to the dorky idiot dad she was used to.
Most of the plotline we have for BirthRight actually takes place in BirthRight: Prequel - the stories of the stabparents. It's a collection of short stories and hopefully some lyricstucks!
For the Sleuth's story, the central event is a horrorterror invasion. It's how they became famous for saving the city and ended up as police detectives instead of freelance. Just as the event happened, Sleuth gave a rather inspiring speech to the gathered police force and members of the public.
Okay so this took like 5 hours and was what I was working on in the stream! Thank you to everyone who turned up!
