"No, I wasn't planning on dancing to this with you but what the hell, right?" she shrugged her shoulders. It was a crazy night, and she probably did need to let loose a little bit.
“Guess who smuggled in some tequila?” Chase asked, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. “Just in time too, because you look like you could use a quick buzz, friend.”
“I understand that it’s all for a good cause and that saving the rain forest is important and all, but seriously, wasn’t there anyone available to run those kissing booths that doesn’t look like they were dragged through a hedge backwards? I’m a very charitable person, but even I have my fucking limits, okay?”
“This game is rigged! There is no way that that throw didn’t knock over those milk bottles!” Dante snapped at the Carnival employee, slamming his fist onto the counter. The boy always had quite a temper, but lately, with Wesley being back in town and the confrontation with Nicole still fresh in his mind, he was truly on the edge and it seemed like the poor employee was going to suffer the consequences of his pent up frustrations. “Don’t you know who I am? Don’t you know who my family is? Well, I’m Dante Ramirez! Yes, I’m part of the Ramirez family! And I’ll have you know that I’m also a lawyer, so I suggest you hand me over that teddy bear right now before I sue your ass!”
Angel had volunteered to run one of the booths at the carnival. Which meant he had to sit on a stool in front of an easel all day. He was suppose to be drawing caricatures. He expected a bunch a couples to come flocking to the stand, in hopes of getting a drawing of them to mark the occasion. He had only gotten a couple customers. Instead he spent most of his time doodling in a sketchbook. He only looked up when he saw a shadow of someone standing in front of him. Angel looked up at the figure, tucking his pencil behind his ear. “Hi, you interested getting a caricature done?” He asked, a friendly tone to his question.
Exhaustion, that was the only way to describe it. Some how one of Lily’s friends had gotten her a job working the fair’s booths and rides. And to say it was a little chaotic would be an understatement. They had her running two rides at the same time; running back and forth between them to start them. Just as the run on the tilt-a-whirl came to an end, she took the key from that ride so she could run the the neighboring Pharaoh Swing ride and let the long line of people that were waiting there onto it. “I’ll be right back guys, I promise. It’ll only be a few minutes.” she addressed the line of people that were in line for the tilt-a-whirl.
Carson walked himself to the front of the ticket booth there, giving the woman running the booth a smile. After buying the booklet of 50+ tickets, he turned to the person next to him and gave them a smile. “What do you wanna go on first? My treat. Or we can go play some games. I’m determined to make sure we leave here with one of those giant four foot bears.”
Willow didn’t know how it happened, but somehow her dads had coaxed her into a prom dress. It was one of those slightly puffy ones that came down to her feet, and was bedazzled from the waist up; which also had no straps so she found herself tugging it up to keep it on for most of pictures. Long story short, she hated the dress, but she came anyway because they insisted it was a way for her to meet people. The packed hall didn’t make her night any easier, and she immediately found herself by the punch and snacks table; picking at what she could find. “I’ve never been to one of these things before.” she admitted to the person standing beside her. “Is the music always this loud and shitty? Or do they switch to some good stuff eventually?”
