i come bearing rarepairs for you to rate! what are your thoughts on treerot (martyn/cleo), impdog (impulse/ren), impwood (impulse/martyn), and fairydog (ren/lizzie)?

Oh Hi.
Lets start with a statement, I think that each series it works like the maze runner. They forget and only remember in death. Listeners, Winners, Watchers, Archivist, Speakers, Lorekeepers remember. (thats another kettle of fish I'll go into later.) I am also a fan of Pixlriffs taking the role of Lady Death.
Treerot:
If platonic 7/10, if romantic 8/10
Okay so like this one feels like there would be memories for Martyn remembering from 3rd life- present, where as Cleo would not remember until Real Life. Because of that Martyn doesnot trust Cleo during Double, hence the 'accidental' kill in Double Life.
Cleo does not care, as they do not feel any romantic inclination to Martyn. Until Real Life.
Martyn blames everyone for the fact that Cleo has not won, and then their memories would be intact.
Martyn still tries. Every season.
3rd life Martyn grew to have feelings for Cleo however did not enact on them. Martyn fell for Cleo first. Cleo started to have feelings during the end of 3rd Life. However they died, and then in Last Life Cleo had forgotten Martyn and the feelings were hidden, more on a platonic side.
During Last Life Martyn was broken hearted and decided to watch from afar. (then Zombiecleo/Lizzie/BigB happened and he was even more heartbroken).
After BigB's betrayl Cleo broke off the throuple, and moved to the Scottage. Martyn was heartbroken and decided to ignore his feelings. When Cleo died for the final time, they realised in the Realm Of Death their feelings, and then when they tried to approach Martyn, he walked away.
To add to the cruelty Cleo is given the memory of the fact that they tried to approach Martyn but was rejected, they also do not remember any other context behind that interaction.
Double Life: Martyn and Cleo are Soulmates, they always were. However Cleo remembers the fact that there was rejection, and they saw the lightest of light redstrings pulling them towards Martyn. They chose to be with Scott. They knew and as did Martyn. Martyn's memory of rejecting Cleo was removed, and replaced with a memory of Cleo rejecting him. Martyn still tried. They both fought together, and then they died trying to fight Pearl. They fought in The Realm Of Death. The other participants had to seperate them.
For context here is what who remember what. Cleo: Only remembers Martyn rejecting them and the fight in the realm of Death. Martyn: remembers everything except his memory of him rejecting Cleo is switched to the memory of Cleo rejecting him.
Then Limited Life Happened. Cleo ends up in a parental role with Bdubs, and Scar as kids and Etho as the absent father. Martyn is heartbroken and decides to go be with Scott. Martyn and Cleo can see the soulmate thread still. They do however not get damaged throughout the time.
For Cleo it is a blurry line which is not visible until Martyns Birthday, and then Cleo is confused. Cleo starts seeing, when Cleo sees Martyn, the time that Martyn has left. Cleo also starts remembering 3rd Life.
Martyn has been able to see Cleo's time, and he doesn't know what to do. It is worse to know how long they both have, because they know what happens. In their last hours they decide to spend one night together. And they talk for most of it. This is during sessions. And they reconnect. When Cleo dies, Martyn mourns.
When he is crowned winner, he requests that he can give memories back to Cleo. He is laughed at. They are both seperated and put in Gilded Cages. The other Lifers watch to see them seperated. They try and save them, and are unsuccesful. Secret Life forces them to be seperate, and cannot spend much time together. They are once again seperated in The Realm Of Death. Real Life Occurs, and Cleo is crowned winner. They spend time together, and Cleo remembers. They then play Wild Life, and both spend time together during sessions. Now Past Life happens. And they Team Up. Their relationship flips between romantic and Platonic. Mostly Platonic at this point.
