just watched metal lords and I love them all to death bUt I really wanna talk about Clay Moss

MY GOD THIS BOY maybe it's because he reminds me so much of Will Solace, but I love him so much. His interactions with Kevin and Hunter (and everyone else) were just so genuine and understanding, like this is a real emotionally mature person here surrounded by people struggling with mental illnesses and some just being assholes.

Him genuinely liking and supporting Kevin's music, still letting him know he did need to make a decision. But not forcing him to a long-term commitment. AND THEN ALSO JUST WANTING TO HANGOUT? Like that actually got me so bad when Kevin was shocked Clay wanted to be friends.

And Clay getting mad at Hunter's bullies instead of Hunter bc he understood that they threw him, not that Hunter purposefully broke the keyboard and speaker. Asking if he was ok, helping him, apologizing, even after Hunter insulted him he still kept trying.

Especially at BotB when he sees the bully (I forgot his name ackk) and stops him so the group can continue. Telling the group that he's not upset about the drummer situation and is actually really happy to have their friend back (and sober) since Kevin dipped. Apologizing AGAIN to Hunter and that lingering gaze mY gOd

idk, maybe Clay and Hunter just really remind me of solangelo, but I adore them so much. I need a sequel and for Clay to return (especially if they can delve into Hunter's homophobia and misogyny and Kevin's "idk it's kinda fluid, right?" and their mental health issues and Emily learning how to cope for herself, not depending on someone for her happiness but still accepting the love and support)

A brief, mild rant.

It is. just so endlessly exhausting and frankly depressing seeing so much negativity over this damn show. I am watching this show for fun, I watch solely to have a good time with my friends and have fun thinking about what comes next. Sure, I could nitpick, I could gripe, I could bitch! I could even sit here and write endless essays about what I don't like about this season or SW as a whole - but I won't. I have a life and it's nice to have this one (1) thing to just enjoy. Is that me being an uncritical consumer? Yep! I do media criticism every. single. day. for grad school; I do not want to do that for free on tumblr.com or open myself up to endless discourse.

My personal opinion on the show's direction? The opinion no one asked for? I just do not care about it like that lmao. In general, plot matters little to me; I can always just write whatever I want to fill in gaps or just make my own thing entirely if I'm not pleased with a certain direction. Wrapping my mind around XYZ narrative mistake or inconsistency is just not a priority to me. I just make a note of it and move on. Perhaps I can justify it with the information given and wait for an answer. Maybe it'll be addressed, maybe it won't! If it's not, I'll just fill in the gap myself. I mostly watch for lore and to see Blorbo on screen. Anything after that is cool beans.

It's just. It's not that important, fam. It's just a show.

I don't want to silence anyone, nor am I trying to "spread toxic positivity" or anything like that. If you really did hate every single thing about this season, more power to you. I would just love it if people lightened up a bit. Getting wrapped up in all the flaws of this show and writing endless screeds about what you hate about it? Is not worth your time. Consider shifting your energy on things you can change - you cannot change the show as it is.

If watching this season and interacting with it is genuinely hurting your feelings, please take care of yourself - that's what I'm going to do. Especially with the season finale approaching, I'll probably just be blocking all tags related to the show.
