Sometimes I feel bad for anti-endos that come into my comments and asks and dms telling me their trauma and insisting I’m invalid because they had to go through that and I just “get to be a system without it”?
I’m sorry you had to suffer. I genuinely wish you the best in the future. I hope you can heal. I hope you find peace and I hope your journey ends up where you’ll be happiest, be that as a functional multiple or coping actively with final fusion, or whatever works for you. I am whole hearted about that. You did not deserve anything that happened to you and I hope those that hurt you receive the punishment they deserve.
But my existence does not devalue yours. The fact I am happy with my system does not mean you being unhappy or struggling with your system suddenly makes either of us fake. You do not have to suffer the most to be valid, nobody does. I can exist at the exact same time as you, and you can still be seen and heard and heal. I’m not stealing the spotlight. I don’t want to take it from you. You deserve the research, you deserve the studies, you deserve help. My existence doesn’t change that.
I know they use the argument, “you’re confusing people who don’t understand” or “people will never learn about us if you’re spreading misinfo!” but if a person cannot comprehend that we are different than you, then they would never truly understand you in the first place.
You can clear up misinformation without rejecting the facts that systems exist with and without disorders. We should work together on that, actually.
So, all-in-all: You’re valid. Your suffering is valid, your pain is valid, your system is valid. I’m sorry that people made you feel like you had to suffer in order to be valid. That’s not the case. It never was. You can heal, and you will still be valid. Your suffering will still have existed, still exist somewhere inside of you, and I can never change that just because I just so happen to be an endo.
Shoutout to all the traumagenic / CDD systems reading this. You’re so strong. I am so proud of you. Keep fighting, keep living, you’re doing amazing.
