Srsly I’m not a fan on how the novel started. I hate when MCs do the deed EARLY into the story and premarital at that, esp. when the circumstances leading to it are downright absurd, but for some reason it suddenly got better in the middle I’m starting to feel I’m gonna like this second story as well... but maybe not as much as the first one. Still it doesn't sit quite well with me that their relationship began from lust to love... but does it usually happen that way? I dunno. Maybe it does. It's just weird.
Her characters are very much likeable, and she has this skill of making the reader feel as if I was the heroine, also chalk it to the fact that her characters are very much relatable it’s like I’m reading my own thoughts on paper lolz. If only I have someone to make me feel not only beautiful, but loved as well. XD
Oh right, it so happens I finally have an audiobook copy too although I’m already halfway on my ebook. But I decided to continue on the audiobook version instead coz I prefer it that way. I’ve been having little headaches from reading while walking and commuting, listening is much more comfortable. My only qualm is that Rosalyn Landor isn’t as diverse in her male voices. Don’t take my word for it coz this is only my second book read by her, but her Rannulf voice just sounds so similar to Sebastian in Devil in Winter I might be listening to the same book. But her female voices are varied and I like how the heroine sounded. However like I said before she’s one of my fave narrators coz she’s great in injecting personality and emotion into her narration.
I’m eager to finish this soon and I have to stop myself from rushing thru the other books just because I’m excited to read Bewcastle’s story, which is also the final book and according to reviews, the best of this series.
