My betta baby, Jeffery, is having some trouble. A few days ago, I noticed him getting a little bloated. I have been fasting him for three days now and he gets more and more bloated everyday. I'm currently trying to get him to eat a little bit of the inside of a pea to help with constipation, but he's refusing it. Any advice would be very appreciated.
I’m sorry to hear that @slightly-above-average!If he’s not eating, but still getting bigger, he may have internal parasites~ What’s his poop look like? is it white? are there little wiggly things sticking out of his bum?
Epsom salt baths/dips might also help…I know that they help to reduce swelling / bloating (tho I’m not sure if epsom salt only works for certain types/causes of swelling/bloating, since I understand epsom salt to draw out excess liquids…not sure if that would help here or not! If anyone has any more advice / clarification on epsom salt baths, please share!)Also, you can try daphnia as well! It has the same effect as the pea, but it’s easier for bettas to digest and he might be more interested in some frozen water fleas than in a piece of pea :3You can also try feeding smaller or crushed up pellets and see if that interests him~
If anyone has any suggestions of help to offer, please do!
