Post #1- Week 1 With Slimband
Most of my life I’ve been overweight… I actually can’t remember being skinny… I know I was because of this picture I have when i was young, like 5, and I was on the beach in a bikini, I don’t think I’ve worn one since then actually. So, when I saw the commercial for Slimband on TV and it peaked my interest and i decided to do my research and look it up, I mentioned it to my parents who agreed with the decision to go ahead and have it input, they understand how much of a struggle my weight has been for me and they’ve been noticing how it’s been affecting my self-esteem as of late.
This wasn’t an easy choice because it is surgery and it is expensive to get and maintain… I had to do a 10 day detox before the surgery and on my surgery day (August 8th 2014) I couldn’t have anything but water that day. It wasn’t too tough cause I was out of it for most of the day anyways, and I needed my rest.
Today is only Day 3, after being banded but so far so good. I was pretty sore for the past couple days and sleeping has been rough cause I can only be on my back but I can already see the advantages of the band; I’m eating way less and I’m content with it, I now know when to stop. Right now I’m looking forward to the full fluid stage, which is start on Thursday, and I can have meal replacements and fruit smoothies. Currently, I’m in the clear liquids stage, where all I can have is (you guessed it!) clear liquids- so lots of broths, water, gatorade & Jell-O for me!
The best part is with the detox and so far with the Clear Liquids- i’ve lost about 15 lbs :)
Already on my way to a better me!!
