SCOUTED: It’s Working Out (IWO) Spring Slimdown Challenge
Back by popular demand, the IWO Spring Slimdown Challenge kicks off 3/30! Get ready to feel great and look your best by joining the talented team at It’s Working Out in Columbia Tusculum. The popular 5-week challenge combines customized fitness schedules with nutrition plans (including delicious menus and recipes)… but best part is the accuracy in setting the goals and seeing actual results with the new IWO 3D Body Scanner! Another favorite part of ours, is the team you’d be joining. Kristen and Ashley will be leading 2 teams to meet all of their team and individual goals (with a healthy bit of competition between the teams)!
OUR SNAPSHOT OF THE CHALLENGE:
- IWO 3D Body Scan at the start and end of the program to see the REAL changes in your body composition. Be the first to use the new advanced body scanner where you will learn your “stats” like:
o body fat %
o weight
o lean mass
o posture
… all information to help you set the right goals for you (not everyone will be targeting to lose body fat!) It takes a short 35 seconds to complete, and you get a full report back that looks a bit like this (yes, this is my actual scan that helped me set targets that I want to build muscle mass and fix my posture in my shoulders/neck!)
- Team building and a bit of competition. Kristen is leading one team, and Ashley the second team and they both couldn’t be more knowledgeable experts in fitness and health. They both are also participating in the challenge with different goals.
- Shopping lists and delicious recipes and menus. You won’t go hungry these 5 weeks! You get a custom meal plan that includes a variety of easy-to-prepare recipes to meet all of your nutritional needs. The delicious menus include recipes like Chicken with tomatoes, Rainbow Salmon, a Blueberry Cinnamon Chia Smoothie and Avocado Toast topped with a Poached Egg… YUM!
- Great variety of fun workouts. At the heart of the challenge is a fun schedule of workouts that fit into your schedule; all 40 weekly classes are included over the 5-week period, including 6 challenge-exclusive classes! Choose from a variety of classes from rowing to TRX (with some only open to Challenge participants) and take those you’re guided to by your coach.
- Customization. You will meet with your coach 3 times throughout the 5 weeks to ensure your personalized goals are set and met! All of the program is custom to meet your needs, but you end up being supported by your coach and your team to accomplish your goals.
- Long Term behavior change. Of course, the focus of the challenge is changing your behavior during the 5 weeks, but the bigger benefits will be for you longer term. The coaches goal is to prove to you this program works and you will feel better… and thus encourage you to keep up these lifestyle changes over the long term. Kristen does not want you to do this for just 5 weeks and then stop, but rather see how easy and fun it can be to be healthier and want to continue the behavior!

Kristen M. owns and runs It’s Working Out in Columbia Tusculum. She’s a self-professed science nerd and fitness expert and has been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for over 20 years, and has a passion for building community here in Cincinnati. What you may not know about Kristen is that she had surgery in September 2018 for colon cancer, and will finish 6 months of chemotherapy in late April (after she’s started the challenge)! Kristen is not only a great business owner but an inspiration to us all who know her and have the pleasure of working (or working out) with her. If Kristen can do all of this – you can too!
More about the IWO 3D Body Scan:
The new IWO 3D BodyScan was just purchased and those participating the challenge will be the first to experience it! It’s so informative and fun (see a sample of the types of info you get after a scan below)! The main benefits of this scanner are that it’s far more accurate than previous scanners as it isn’t impacted by hydration status. It also gives you a great amount of information on your total body composition and visually shows you the progress you make. If you want a scan (outside of the challenge participants), you can schedule an appointment by calling the studio and have one scan for $50, and $60 for two (which is preferred, so you can see progress with before/afters). These summaries below are from a recent scan we did, but they are just the “before”...not the “after”, and they also don’t have the fitness goals entered into here! So, the IWO 3D Body Scan is actually one of the best tools to visually set your goals and see results at the end of the challenge! Have fun and enjoy the journey!!
