I haven’t touched a piano in about 15 years already, but an interesting opportunity presented itself in the form of a housemate bringing out his own portable keyboard, so I decided to see if I can still play the instrument.
I’m definitely still rusty, but I pleasantly discovered that I’m still able to read notes and use the instrument. This cover over here is one of my better attempts at playing the song. While it’s far from perfect, it’s not as bad as it could have been, so I thought I’d share it.
A quick summary of what I’m up to, mobage-wise! More ramblings under the cut!
TL;DR: I quit Tales of Link, earned some achievements in Tales of Asteria, and got addicted to Love Live! School Idol Festival (EN and JP versions). If you happen to have a UR center and want to add me in the lattermost, feel free to shoot me a private message so I could give you my friend ID!
Tales of Link
I finally quit ToLink. I really lost interest in the game, and after months of just accumulating stones and not really participating in arena events, I decided to take that step and quit the game. Instead of selling my account though, I gave it away to a person I trust and who I think deserves it. Up to him if he wants to say that he got my account--I don’t mind either way.
I have no regrets about quitting, though I do have regrets about the amount of money I spent on ToLink. It doesn’t feel worth it, considering the amount of time I spent playing the game (barely a year). Oh well, lesson learned.
If ToLink gets an EN version though, I might consider playing again--though as F2P.
Tales of Asteria
I actually cleared up to Floor 28 of the Colette Tower Quest without a 5* MA healer. This quest is actually way more manageable than the Rita one, as boss predictability allows room for strategy, instead of just praying to RNGesus for the right artes to activate.
Well, I still pray to RNGesus for the heal arte activations of Zelos and Farah, but it wasn’t as terrible as the time I hoped in vain back in the Rita tower quest.
It does take a lot of patience, though. Sheena alone took me several tries, with some of the tries amounting to 40 turns and the like. Floor 29 Lloyd has been a nightmare thus far, and I think I need to get to Level 250 in order to have a better shot at it. Four more levels to go...
LLSIF
I fell headfirst into idol hell and never quite recovered. Asteria and SIF have become my main mobile games, no thanks to alicelmalice and the prodding of my buddies in the office. For the latter, having someone to talk to offline about the game is quite a refreshing thing. Not gonna lie, part of the reason why I’m so dedicated to my EN main right now is thanks to my officemates who also play the game.
I also play on the JP server, but I’m apprehensive about T2-ing events there. I like the interface and features on JP a lot more, but that feeling of playing alone kinda sucks. Either way, if you happen to have a UR center and actively play the game (either on EN or JP), feel free to ask for my friend code!
My center on EN is an Idolized Mermaid Maki (I might switch to SRs during score match for the lols, but during downtime and token events, I use her as a center). For JP, I use Fairytale Kotori, though I can switch to a cool UR center upon request.
On another note, these were a few things that kept me going today.
(1) I tried for Tier 2 in EN SIF and I’m happy to say that I managed to meet my goal with a lot of allowances and the like. Unfortunately, I wasn’t quite lucky with my first voucher spin, considering all I got was an SR, but well, I know by now that my luck isn’t the best in gacha and the like, ahaha.
(2) An honorable mention, courtesy of tales-of-link. I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw this post in the tags (the caption loaded before the image, ahaha), and was pleasantly surprised to find a small shout-out to my rather... over-the-top reaction to seeing Yukata Jade once more. Ahhhh it brings back so many memories, including war flashbacks of the time I first spent money on Asteria (never got Yukata Jade, just Yukata Rita). So... thanks for the mention, Sam. It was a very pleasant surprise. ;w;
The above are little things, I know, but they’ve kept me smiling throughout this day despite the.. things that have happened.
Out of curiosity, I decided to try taking on the highest level available in the Kohaku limited quest event. I was kinda wary about the Level 96 boss, but the Asteria Stone tempted me, yes. At my current state (Level 66, with 8.6k attack), it's nigh impossible to clear it in the specified amount of turns, but suffice to say, I managed to clear it with no casualties and got the Asteria Stone reward. =w=b Thank heavens for Reala. I don't really have an opinion on her character, but her healing overlimit is a saving grace.
I'm probably not going to try that particular level again, though. Even with the higher stone drop rate associated with it, it takes too long to clear. I think it took me approximately 10 minutes to complete. Oh well.
Is it just me, or does Guy's voice become deeper (or should I say really, really, really deep) at times to the point that he sounds really different? It seems to happen when he becomes agitated about something in battle... I nearly had a hard time telling him apart from an older NPC while he was growling about something in the drama CD I'm QCing...
Or maybe I just need to work on my hearing skills.
Running count of the number of times Jade has gone "Uwah!" in the presence of Peony: 2
Running count of the number of times Jade has ended or begun a sentence with "!" in the presence of Peony: 7
The former is important because the only other time he went "Uwah!" (so far) was when he found himself surrounded by books in Nebilim's room, and the latter amuses me because the only other time he had an exclamation point in a sentence was when he went "I want to try meet him, no matter what!" while Saphir was being a nervous wreck whilst looking at the security outside Peony's mansion.
Needless to say, his "uwah" in Peony's presence was not a good type of "uwah". It's more like, "uwah, I can't believe this kid who likes to live in a garbage dump of a room is going to be our future emperor, and wow, my failed expectations sure have a way of messing with me".
