Lost Something? || Eve&Kasey
Eve swore, she honestly, honestly, didn’t mean to take that man’s wallet.
As soon as she had gotten home from the eventful night with taking care of the brunet young man, she had folded up the jean jacket he had so graciously lent her and set it on her bedside table. She’d even actually forgotten about it for several days, until she was cleaning up and knocked the jacket off her nightstand. That one motion then caused the man’s brown, leather wallet to come tumbling out of the pocket, much to Eve’s surprise.
With the amount of money, an abundance amount of gift cards to a variety of food restaurants, and his license in there, she figured it was worth trying to get it back to him. So on her next day off, Eve took off to Castanet, hoping to find at least someone who merely knew the name Kasey to get his things back to him.
So here the blonde stood in the bar in Casanet, her blonde hair pulled back with her usual ribbon, red dress on and a fluffy white cardigan on over it. “So ... I’m confused, do you know him or not?” Her voice escaped her frustrated.
“Listen lady,” a sharper voice spoke. “I said I know him, but I wish I didn’t know him. How hard is that for you to understand.” The strawberry blonde man from behind the bar rolled his eyes in frustration. “Honestly I’d say just keep all the money in his wallet as a tip and toss the damn rest of it away. I know I’ve done that before, still wasn’t enough money for babysitting his drunk ass.”
The blonde could only sigh in exhaustion, realizing she wasn’t going to be getting anywhere with this man. “Well perhaps I could just leave it here? And if he comes through, you could give it to him then? Hm ♪?”
Though just before she was finished speaking, another man sat on the barstool beside her. “Hi’ya Chase!” The apparently much perkier man spoke. Chase. Well Chase, Eve thought, you’re of absolute no help. Wine colored eyes instead looked to the man beside her, he had incredibly young features, sweet and almost innocent like. His brown eyes soon met with hers, and she could tell instantly by his change in expression that she made him nervous, a common thing that happened when she looked so intently at guys like him. “O-Oh! Sorry Miss, I didn’t mean to interrupt you guys if you were talking!”
“Hey Kevin,” Chase spoke dryly. “Why don’t you try talking to her, she needs a favor and I feel like you’ll be better help than I am.”
Eve merely batted her eyelashes, before the familiarity of that name rang to her. “Kevin!” She spoke up as the thought hit her, going through the pocket of the jean jacket she was holding to pull out the wallet and show him the license. “Do you know this man? Kasey? I believe he said that he knew you!”
The brunet young man only looked from Chase across the bar, to making eye contact with the woman who suddenly seemed so enthralled with his name? He blinked, watching her as she pulled out the picture of his best friend. “Oh!” The man couldn’t help his laughter at the dorky picture on his friend’s driver’s license. “Yeah I sure do, he’s actually my best friend and he’s suppose to be meeting me here in a bit. What did he do to you that made you come looking for him? And have ... his wallet?” He blinked once again in confusion, before the bar door opened once again.
“Oh—” Kevin spoke once again. “There he is now actually, hey Kasey!” He called to the man. “Someone’s here looking for you!”
