This deluxe Easton Press edition of The Eddas arrived today. This very large and slipcased tome is an impressive addition to my library. The beige slipcase bears an example of the gorgeous tipped-in plates that illustrate the text which forms the primary source of Norse mythology. The translation made by scholars appears to be quite good and I'm looking forward to the pleasure of reading it as well as savoring Justin Sweet's beautiful art work.

Something I have my eye on: Melmoth the Wanderer, slipcased and illustrated Folio Society edition. We have one at work. . .and oh the temptation! Since it's in our collectible section, I get less than half of my normal discount, and it's a bit more than I want to spend. Now to gamble--I know we have a sale coming up in March, and I could potentially save more. It's like playing the stock market, haha. I've read it, and remember that it's very good and very weird. Covet, covet! ;)
