It's been so very hot in this beautiful wide brown land down under, it is hard to be motivated to do anything but be a slug by the pool (or under air con if you're lucky). Ten minutes at my easel is all I could muster yesterday, and a little scribbly crow card for a friend was just right. I've been thinking about practise again, how vital it has become to me in both a deeply personal and spiritual way; and also as an important means to hone my skills. Practise is helping me with that ever present monkey on my back, perfectionism, which may sound odd, but I am seeing value in the process not just the end product. I'm looking forward to more practise today, and to being kind to myself when I perceive the practise to not be going well.
