Monica Zetterlund & Bill Evans - Waltz For Debby . First off, no, this isn’t the 1964 original. I don’t think I can ever bring myself to spend $1000 or more on one record. But this is the 2013 Record Store Day release that I bought at a record fair in Stockholm a few years back. I spent 250kr and according to Discogs, it’s worth double that nowadays. Woohoo! Not that I buy records to make a profit but still woohoo! . Back to the music. I don’t have to tell you that Monica Zetterlund has a sublime voice. I don’t have to tell you that Bill Evans is a jazz pianist of legendary status. Obviously this record is fantastic if you, like me, love slow melancholy jazz. And who doesn’t?
