Seeing so much content on social media about what happened in Atlanta makes me so upset. Of course I know that Asian hate crimes have gone up during COVID, but wow. Everyone I know is asking me if I’m alright or what they can do for me. Correct people who make inappropriate Asian jokes. Keep others accountable for their micro/macro aggressions. Call them out. I’m so angry that people don’t understand that these things happen because peoples racism and xenophobia go unchecked.
