Hogwarts au, what houses do you think the gang would be in?
Ooooh, there are so many options, it’s kind of hard to say. I will start of by saying this is just my opinion, and that anyone is free to headcanon whatever you’d like. I mean, I have a hard time deciding just one house for most of the characters.
For example, with Tadashi I could reasonably see him in any house but Slytherin. I mean he’s clearly brave and foolhardy like a Gryffindor, considering the whole “running into the fire to save someone” thing. But he’s also really hardworking and stubborn, considering the amount of time and effort he put into Baymax. And he values learning like a Ravenclaw, considering how upset he was about Hiro wasting his potential. So I could see him in any of those houses, really. My personal leanings are towards Hufflepuff, but that’s just my opinion. I think I could also see him in Slytherin if someone backed it up with evidence, I just haven’t really seen any proof myself.
Hiro on the other hand I could definitely see in Slytherin. He might not portray the ambition house trait all that much, but I think he is very fond of using whatever means necessary to achieve his goals. Whether that be tricking and swindling people, legitimately building robots and inventions, or ripping his brother’s chip out of Baymax to get what he wants, he’s definitely willing to do whatever it takes. He also shows some Gryffindor bravery like Tadashi did when he went after Abigail, so that’s another fit. And I know a lot of people like to put him in Ravenclaw because he’s so smart, but I think that one only tangentially fits. He’s smart, yes, but so was Hermione. I don’t think he actually likes learning as much, so it’s probably less of a fit, though I still could see it. I don’t think he’d be a Hufflepuff, though. He’s probably too lazy, I see Hiro as being the kind of person who works in short spurts, but if problems start popping up and things aren’t going smoothly he probably gets frustrated and quits. Though once again if someone argued for a Hufflepuff Hiro, I’d totally be open to the idea. But to me, he’s probably a Slytherin, maaaybe a Gryffindor.
Fred strikes me as the guy whose family has been in one house for generations, like the Malfoys or the Weasleys, and then he ends up in another. He also strikes me as a Ravenclaw, because although he seems silly and like he’s not as smart, he’s the one who started putting together the plot behind the man in the Kabuki mask (he was wrong, but at least he was thinking in terms of suspects and motives). He reads comic books, collects movies and action figures, and probably knows all kinds of trivia. If anyone treasures learning and knowledge it’s Fred. So yeah, I could totally see him as a very unusual Ravenclaw, not unlike Luna Lovegood. Although he’s also got that upbeat attitude and willingness to share his home with his friends for protection, so he could be a Hufflepuff as well.
GoGo is a Gryffindor to me. Crazy driving stunts, firm ethical code that she refuses to break (ie she’s the one who tells Hiro that killing Callaghan is NOT OKAY), and a bit of an overprotective streak? Yeah, she screams Gryffindor to me. Although she’s another one I could see in Hufflepuff too. Or Slytherin. Even Ravenclaw. I could basically see her in any house and I feel like it could fit, and you could make an argument for it.
Wasabi is tricky. Definitely not a Gryffindor, just because he seems to have too much caution to him, even if he is willing to fight crime as a superhero. I think he wouldn’t work as a Slytherin for the same reasons. I think he’s another Ravenclaw to be honest, what with the order and logic that he uses in daily life. I think it’s probably the best fit. You could also argue Hufflepuff, like the others, but I think it fits him less that it would GoGo or Fred. He’s less hardworking, more meticulous, and I think the difference puts him firmly in Ravenclaw territory
Honey Lemon is honestly the hardest though, for me. She doesn’t really portray any of the house traits outwardly in the movie like the rest of them, so a lot of my analysis would have to be based on speculation. Like she has to be very fond of learning to have memorized the periodic table and what combinations of elements result in what formulas to be able to use her weapons well in the movie. Ravenclaw could suit her then. But she also strikes me as very adventurous when she got really excited about using her chemistry to fight crime, which could lean her to Gryffindor. And she seems loyal as well, so Hufflepuff? I don’t really know when it comes to Honey Lemon. Any of those could work. She’s a hard one to read for me.
Callaghan and Krei were both Slytherins, 100%, because they’re willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. I also think they had to have been very ambitious people to have achieved their roles as a CEO and as a high level professor at such a prestigious school. Slytherins all the way. For some reason Abigail is probably a Gryffindor because she was willing to fling herself into an experimental portal, risking her life.
Aunt Cass is a former Hufflepuff and if anyone wants to challenge that I welcome it because she’s so Hufflepuff it hurts bring it on.
So yeah, that’s my opinion on which Harry Potter house the main cast would be in. And for the record, Baymax would be some sort of magical creature, not a student, so he doesn’t get sorted :P
