I‘m asking this a bunch of slytherins:

Do you think you would have joined Voldemort in the war?

Absolutely not.

There is a caveat of sorts - knowing I had a similar experience of school to Snape (and although I came from a different background and had a different childhood to him, I do have some trauma from childhood, so I relate to what teenage Sev was going through a little), and understanding why he was so drawn to a group that showed appreciation and acceptance toward him, I can't say that as a child I wouldn't have felt drawn to that.

As an adult though, knowing what I know now, and knowing what Voldemort truly was, I would never join him.
