Hey! After a weird series of reblogs what tv shows and/or video games would you recommend?
Video-game wise, if you haven’t played the Golden Sun series and are a fan of RPGs, get on that right away! It takes a little bit for the first game to pick up, but once it does it’s a great game. The second is my favorite of the series, and you actually play from the point of view of one of the “antagonists” of the first game! The third one is worth the time, though your mileage may very on whether you like it more or less than the first two,Other than Golden Sun, I’m a big fan of the Fire Emblem series (FE7 and FE9 are my favorites). For the computer, I like to play Risk of Rain (a rogue-like platformer where you travel across a planet collecting items and fighting monsters) and Starbound (basically 2-D Minecraft in space, but with quests and a large variety of props/cultures/species to play with/as.Anime-wise, there’s a good variety I like.If shonen anime is your thing, Marchen Awakens Romance is one of my favorites, with an interesting cast. Shaman King is one of my childhood favorites, but I would actually recommend reading the manga if you only have time for one vs the other (anime vs manga), since the two endings are wildly different. If you like sports anime, Baby Steps is at the top of the list. It’s a very accurate representation of tennis as a sport, and has a very amazing cast cast of relatable characters.Other anime that I would definitely recommend:
Tiger & Bunny is great, I just finished rewatching it! It’s basically about superheros in a slightly-futuristic setting (it’s mostly modern), where they are sponsored by companies and have a “season”. It’s main character is a veteran hero that is slowly becoming outclassed by his peers, and his company pairing him up with a new up-and-coming hero.Stein;s Gate is another great anime! It follows a “lab” of eccentric and odd people, and their attempt to send messages through time. The series takes a turn when one of the characters becomes capable of sending themselves through time.Angel Beats is a semi-slice of life type anime, following a number of highschool-aged students in a type of purgatory afterlife. It’s a bit of a tear jerker near the end, just a warning.Non-anime shows I’d recommend. I’m sure you already know a good amount about these from tumblr, but here’s a small summary as well.Star vs. the Forces of Evil is a cute show about a girl from a magical world sent to earth as an exchange student to learn to control herself. She makes little attempt to do so, and she gets into lots of trouble with her friend Marco.Gravity Falls is another that I like, it follows two twins with opposite interests, and their mis-adventures during their summer break in a town filled with monsters and mystery.Steven Universe I watch as well, it follows Steven and the Crystal Gems, as they work together to defend their home from monsters and invaders. That’s not a very good summary, since there’s a bit of slice of life element to it, and it’s much more focused on the relationship between the characters. If you’ve got any particular genre you’re looking for, or are looking for something similar to another game/show, let me know!
