I am actually tentatively hopeful about the nominee for Secretary of Labor, Lori Chavez-DeRemer. One of the students in my program was a staffer for her so I'm relatively familiar with her career. She's a pretty liberal Republican with a very pro-labor history, to the extent that I'm shocked she's the nominee. Now, do I know whether she will stick by those stances if chosen? No. Most of his appointees seem unable to maintain their morals once in his sphere. But at least she's starting from a good point.
People will try to stomp on you
They’ll raise their feet high in the air
And scream insults with bloody rage
They’ll think they are better that you
They’ll tell you you’re worthless
Wrong
Crazy
Selfish
That you matter not
But it’s a lie
You are important
Your true is as important as theirs
No one is better
And no one should tell you to stand down
For yourself
So stand up
Hold your worth in your heart
You’re strong
You’re not wrong in standing for yourself
You’re not crazy for thinking differently
You’re not selfish for wanting
To be respected
Don’t be the storm like they are
Be the warmness of the sun that comes after
Be the water in the river that can’t be stopped
Be the joy of laughter
Be you
You’re beautiful
You’re deserving of love
And no one can’t take that away from you
