Wednesday 13 October 2021
A native of the cloud forests of Central America Smallanthus maculatus has the most amazing stems forming a bamboo-like thicket. This herbaceous perennial flowers in the autumn and is not frost hardy. It is a relative of Smallanthus sonchifolius (yacón, Peruvian ground apple).
