Hank wasn’t used to the frequent activity of this sort of shit anymore. He wasn’t the fit young man he’d once been when he was far more focused on the red ice task force, or even when he’d been moved to homicide. The years hadn’t been kind to him (and neither had his habits), so a rest had definitely been needed after almost falling off a fucking building.

Downing a quarter of his freshly opened beer from its bottle, he leaned back against the cement wall. He’d need more of these. With this failure, partially from his own stupid ass needing Connor helping him back up the edge of the roof, he could already feel a mood brewing.

CC clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, leaning back against the couch and looking over at the Lieutenant. “I knew I shouldn’t have let him have that last one. That was the one that did it. Should have taken it from him and sent his ass to bed.” He could tell the other was just passed out but, still, it wasn’t really healthy for him to be drinking like that. 

He looked back to Connor and Sumo who were on the living room floor, CC deciding to join them. He stood up and sat down on the other side of Sumo, stroking his fur while still watching Hank. “Should we put him in his room or something? That can’t be good for his back.”

HE TAKES A STEP BACK , EYES DROPPING TO THE GUN HELD IN HIS LEFT HAND . HE DRAGS HIS GAZE FORWARD , AWAY FROM THE WEAPON AND TO THE BODY ON THE GROUND ACROSS FROM HIM . BLUE BLOOD IS SPILLING FROM A HOLE IN THE ANDROID’S HEAD, AND IT’S EYES ARE OPEN BUT UNSEEING . CONNOR MAKES A SOFT SOUND LETS GO OF THE GUN AS IF IT WERE BURNING HOT .

HE LOOKS ACROSS AT A FIGURE STOOD  FROM HIM , SEEMINGLY IN AS MUCH SHOCK AS HE WAS . HE STARED AT THE OTHER MALE , EYES PLEADING - BEGGING .

Tyler was indeed shocked - he’d walked into the room right as Connor pulled the trigger. He’d seen violence before, shocking and brutal - but he’d never seen an android kill another android.

“Connor... you shot him.” It didn’t seem the most insightful comment but, like Connor, speech preceded rational thought sometimes.

He put a hand on the android detective’s shoulder. “Try to think, Connor. Was he threatening you? You must have had a good reason to...” He found it hard to actually say the words: shoot him dead.
