Hi! Was re-reading, and I really liked how the eye motif in 'Hostile Planets II' foreshadowed 2938 Megatron!
Also, I have a question:
"This prompted loud negations from everyone present. The irony of the statements amused Soundwave most of all, as he had been doing furniture math in the rec center again."
Is furniture math when he rearranges furniture so he can ignite crystals and escape, like that time with Tailgate and Cyclonus? Or something else?
Hi!
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the reread :D Hostile Planet II was major foreshadowing for their showdown with 2938... and then I changed my mind about what 2938 looked like, and it is now a much more subtle foreshadowing xD
Yes, furniture math is when he rearranges the furniture in the rec center. This particular instance of furniture math he's referring to is his plotting of the event in Ch 51 where he and Rodimus hide so they can overhear Nautica, Aquafend, Swerve, etc having a little discussion... >D
Soundwave had been plotting for a couple weeks now, and all of Rodimus's fidgeting threatened to give away the surprise. ... They were squished down together, facing the far wall of the rec center. Behind them was a carefully arranged set of chairs. ... “Okay, okay. I think we all know why we're here,” came Swerve's voice, low and conspiratorial.
“Well, I don’t have much free time to go that often, but I enjoy going to the movies. I enjoy superhero and sci-fi movies a lot. Oh, and old crime dramas and stuff— I love film noir.”
😡: what makes you angry?
“...Rule-breaking. Once or twice doesn’t bother me that much, but sometimes people will just do it over and over again... It gets frustrating sometimes, y’know? I just wish they’d listen...”
Hi! Just wanted to say I read The Echo Garden in full for the first time last week and it's invaded my brain entirely! Thank you for writing it!
A little thing I was wondering about: did Soundwave ever get out of the negatives on Swerve's scoreboard? Did he ever get out of last place?
Hello!
Great question! Soundwave retrieving the 0001 energon was definitely worth +10000 points, but Swerve doesn't like anyone to have more points than he does, so he'd find some way to finagle Soundwave's score below his own 😄
OH JESH YEAH IT IS. I didn't even know he had a birthday. Gasp what kind of fan am I?! I don't even have a gift for him! Uh *scrambles around looking for something I can use*
Uh here! Here's something new not being used at the moment that I dragged up from the depths of my wips. I mean... I totally spent so much time and effort on it... yeahhhh....
Lol. But wow happy birthday Brine. Another year not dead!
Doesn't seem fair. It's his birthday but yall get a small present ;) too bad it's horribly wrapped and not very big pfffftt
The two came into the house in a huff. Alex flopping angrily down beside him at the table. Herobrine went over to the couch, grabbing a blanket and wrapping it around himself.
"So how was training?" Steve asked, setting down his glass of water.
"That asshole is too cranky to train properly today." Alex bit out, grabbing the water from his hand and drinking it instead. "I don't know what his problem is."
In response, Brine growled and draped the blanket over him entirely. Cutting him off from the rest of the world.
"What happened?" Steve asked, taking back his glass.
"We were in the middle of training and he said I wasn't listening even though I WAS and I was also kicking his butt, mind you! And he got all butthurt and stormed off."
"He seemed a little grumpy this morning." Steve hummed.
"You know I can hear you..." Herobrine growled from under the blanket. "I am NOT grumpy." He crossed his arms under the blanket.
Alex gestured to him wildly. Clearly aggravated at the behavior.
"So you just need him less cranky?" Steve asked, specifically not using the word grumpy. "Is that the problem?"
"Yeah, I guess, but good fucking luck. I don't think anything can break that foul mood of his." Alex yelled, directing her anger at Brine.
Steve looked at Alex, wiggled his eyebrows and mouthed 'watch this'
The miner got up and stood in front of the blanket pile on the couch. "Brine~" he cooed.
Herobrine curled up in response. "Not now Steven. I'm angry." His voice sounded like it too. A little bit if a growl. Like an angry dog.
Steve leaned down. Getting close to the face under the blanket. He put both hands on Herobrine’s knees. "Briiiiineeee~" he giggled.
Herobrine curled up more in response. Steve could feel him heat up a bit. The temperature near him rising. "No."
Steve pulled the blanket up and placed it over his head too. Meeting the pouty face of the demon underneath the material. His eyes lighting up through the darkness of the cover. "Well there he is."
"Go away." Herobrine growled. But was blushing.
Steve leaned in and gave him a kiss on the lips. Herobrine tried to back away on the couch, but his head hit the cushion eventually as Steve fell into him. Steve giggled and kissed Brine again. The demon didn't try to kiss back... for the first few seconds. But the miner found the body under him relax and kiss softly back.
That's when Steve pulled away, taking the blanket with him. Herobrine was shocked.
"Good, now you're calm." Steve winked at him and tossed the blanket back down onto his lap. "Go play nice."
