The family ends up traveling all over France, and even out of the country once the borders are open after the plague

Maurice makes music boxes and paintings of all the places they go.

Belle quickly becomes multilingual.

They still end up settling down at Villeneuve because the parents are feeling tired and want to set down some roots,

Events unfold in a rather similar way to canon, but both mother and daughter go after their missing patriarch. The sight of a happy family standing against him in different forms of defiance to try and protect each other gives him confusing feelings.
