2 ⧽. if you could sit down and finish any completely new fic without anything stopping you (time, tiredness, etc), what would you write? tell us about it if you want!

ok i never managed to actually start this but once i thought about writing (ANOTHER FUCKING) time loop fic but this time trapping eddie in a torment nexus! idea is s8 au where instead of eddie going to texas he finds out that chris died in a car accident (STAY WITH ME). night of the funeral he passes out and wakes up a week before the accident. this is the impetus for him to go to el paso. to save chris.

and then he leaves as per canon (if more traumatized), and then he gets a call days later that buck died on a call (was thinking of condensing the timeline so it could be the lab call lol). the funeral is the same day. eddie wakes up a week before. rest of the fic is eddie scrambling because wherever he goes one of his boys dies, no matter what he does. i was just like let's put 'if you make me choose between you and my son, my son wins every time' into reality in the worst way possible <33

anyways something about having to bring chris back to break the loop but the logistics tired me out so much so i never actually wrote it. if anyone wants the idea it's in the void rn!

6 ⧽. if you were to write a part two/sequel to a fic, what fic would you want to write it for?

disregarding the actual sequels i have in the works, this is perhaps an obscure pick but 'cause my love will be fierce (and your love will be missed) would be fun to write a sequel for! i did a lot of unnecessary mental gymnastics to make everyone fit their roles in that au world, so writing more about former-prince current-fugitive kim dokja and the reluctant mercenary crew led by yjh protecting him while his presumed-dead current-revolutionary mother tries to convince him to join her would be. very fun.

14 ⧽. is there anything outside of your normal content that you want to write?

i would LOVE to finish my robb wip lol. i know it's been years but jong yoon and jo gul spiraling bc jo gul gets an arranged marriage while everyone else stares in fascinated horror is so fun for me. i know this fic is for like. three people max. but i am one of those three and one day i will catch up on this now *checks notes* 1208 chapter webnovel :)

How late is the latest you’ve ever stayed up reading fic?

Uuuuh too late, probably 5ish though insomnia would play into that as well. Been in bed, can’t fall asleep, so keep reading all night... Longfic is dangerous.

What fandom(s) have you given up?

Oh man, I have been in fandom long enough that my list of fandoms is super long. I wouldn’t say I “gave up” any in that I decided I don’t want anything to do with them anymore, though there are some which I used to be very active in and now I’m not at all. Harry Potter is the most recent one of these, it’s the one I was active in prior to Star Wars. My interest is cyclical, though, I eventually return to my old fandom loves even if it takes a decade.

What kind of fic do you avoid?

There is currently one notable exception, but as a rule, I don’t like to read love triangles - unless they lead up to an OT3, then it’s fine. Knowing from the start this fic can only end up with two being happy while the third is unhappy just makes me sad in a not-fun way.

2. Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing?Hmm I don’t think so. It would probably be helpful to have one. The only real “ritual” I have is for exchange fic. For this you’ve got to know, I have all my WIPs in one huge WIP Word file. Create level 1 heading with Exchange Name. Copy&paste recip’s DNWs, general likes and prompts. Subheader “Assignment” and under that goes the fic. Every treat gets subheader level 2 “ship name fic” then letter copy&paste and level 3 “fic” under which goes the writing. Yes. I could save myself the trouble by having separate files. But I like having everything in one place!

3. What is your absolute favorite kind of fic to write?Bickery, banter arguing with lots of raw angst and aching hurts and deep, deep feelings. No easy resolutions, no true happy ends. Everything hurts. You’re welcome.

11. Weirdest thing you’ve ever written/thought about writing/etc.?I feel like “weirdest thing” is very subjective. I’m sure for plenty of people that would be my robot porn for being robot porn, while for others it’s the least weird on behalf of being consensual, healthy relationships, you know? For someone else, it’d be the Problematic Behemoth Ship but is it really weird-weird or just predictable when nobody is sexing up a helicopter???

12. A fix you wish you had written better, and why?Most of my early fics, back when I had the time and energy to tackle these huge longfic projects. But that’s a boring answer, everybody wishes they could go back and rewrite their early fics. So I’ll go with, I really wish I’d outlined my current WIPs in text doc more thoroughly instead of just daydreaming and assuming I’d remember. I wrote myself into corners with some of my WIPs and have been struggling to get out of them in ways which would have been easily avoidable. 

19. Why did you start writing? Umm hard to say it’s been so long it’s hard for me to imagine not writing. And I didn’t think about it deeply. Maybe there was some underlying urge to write characters that represented me or were just more diverse than what I got on TV/in books (when I look back at my OCs I’d assume there was, clumsy as these attempts were) or maybe I wanted to tell stories that didn’t get told. But teen geek me didn’t think about it in these terms. I liked reading fic and it looked like it’d be fun to write my own, so write my own I did.
