It relieves you from the burden of remembering and keeping track of everything. If you can trust the system, you can let go of the attempt to hold everything together in your head and you can start focusing on what is important:
The content,
the argument and
the ideas.
By breaking down the amorphous task of āwriting a paperā into small and clearly separated tasks, you can focus on one thing at a time, complete each in one go and move on to the next one . A good structure enables flow, the state in which you get so completely immersed in your work that you lose track of time and can just keep on going as the work becomes effortless (Csikszentmihalyi, 1975). Something like that does not happen by chance.
Last night I slept nine hours (7pm-4:15am), so even though I woke up quite early, I'm feeling better than I did yesterday. Finally cracked open "Laziness Does Not Exist," and I'm so happy I did. I've only read the introduction so far, but it reminds me of "How to Keep House While Drowning" by KC Davis, which I cannot recommend enough for neurodivergent people to read. The TLDR version is that cleanliness is not a moral failure, it is a impermanent state/skill issue. I think this is such an important concept that can expand to many other parts of life, and its kinda fun to see how it also manifests in a place of laziness. I'm definitely going to do some lit notes about it in obsidian later because this concept is so very interesting to me.
I also got an email from my roommate yesterday!! I'm so so very excited to room with someone (I have siblings but someone of the same! age!) and she seems super cool (and supports queer people, which is reassuring. I want to confirm some things politically but I don't entirely know how to go about this. I may just let time run its course and see what happens, because that may just be the most natural thing to do. I think this is also a ADHD "problem" re my social cues. I'm slightly nervous about oversharing too much).
Today my main goal is to register to vote + drive š¤š¾ and continue what I did yesterday! While I did feel tired, I do feel that yesterdays checklist really worked with my brain.

The #Senstone is a portable voice recorder that syncs with your mobile device and transcribes anything you say into text. It's a fascinating little gadget being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, It's a clever idea executed in an attractive package, making it a gadget to watch out for. Since it's an early version of a crowdfunded device, we will not be formally scoring the Senstone, but we'll revisit it in the future for a full review if and when it's released as a retail product.
