I’ve always thought I knew the magic of makeup,but I never truly understood its magnitude until today at Smart Works . For almost two decades of working on people’s faces,I thought I’ve learned a lot of things and tricks to make someone feel beautiful. I have always loved doing makeup and hair.I’ve always dreamt of seeing the faces I painted in the covers of glossy magazines and huge billboards.I have always imagined how thrilling it would be to be credited for the latest runway looks. But until today,I have never felt such deep sense of satisfaction and gratitude (to be able to do the work I do) when I handed the mirror to these beautiful women to look and see themselves.I have never imagined how a simple smudging of eyeliner to create a smokey look could bring so much confidence to someone.How a gentle massaging of moisturiser on someone else’s face could give so much sense of being taken care of.I’ve always believed in matching your foundation closest to your skin tone,but I’ve not seen someone looked forward to starting a job because she now feels empowered to do so,all because she looked flawless in her base.All these women looked at the mirror like they’re seeing themselves for the first time.As a makeup artist,you can never put a price tag to that experience. Sometimes I ask myself have I done enough to make my dreams come true?Have I worked hard enough to be where I want to be? And today,it all makes sense to me. I have been living the dream. I am where I’m meant to be,doing the things I meant to do.
