How Curious!!

A puppet? In the works? Yes, indeed!

Lately, I've been plugging away at making a mascot for my various accounts. I'm reviving an old puppet I had made ages ago with a fresh, new, 2.0 version, and he'll soon be the face of my little brand! Here's a quick doodle of what he looks like...

His name is Smarty Cat, a friendly, know-it-all tabby who likes to teach, learn about, and collect zany things. A bit too smart for his own good, he occasionally jumbles up his fun facts, and is always on the hunt for something new to learn. He also loves bubble wrap! I have no clue why, you might want to ask him.

Designed by Mistake??

Smarty was designed 13 years ago in a sculpture class I took, where we had 90 minutes to design and build a puppet out of scraps. In the rush of the project, I accidentally mixed up "alley cat", "smart alec", and "scaredy cat", misremembering the phrase as "smarty cat". Smarty went through an entire art show before I realized my mistake. Reading his namecard on the night he was displayed, it dawned on me! Whoops...

Here's some progress up until this point:

This 2.0 version of Smarty started off as a small clay sculpt I made patterns for. I then blew up the patterns, did some test mockups, altered the patterns, and settled on this size for the final:

I was happy with this! During this mockup stage, Smarty 1.0 was busy deciding on what colors of fur he wanted for his 2.0.

He eventually settled on a bit warmer palette than his current one. Now that we have most of the materials to continue, we're getting excited to really get into the nitty gritty of bringing his 2.0 to life!

My cat is learning the human language— I accidentally taught her to say hello because I meow it to her so she can understand it and now she says it back to me when I say hi.

She also runs to the door to greet us when she hears movement in the hallway outside

I turned it off and let them get used to it again. I made the mistake of leaving it on, and my two cats were scared the first time they saw it move right after they exited. I recommend turning this auto-mode off in the beginning until your cats are used to their new robotic bathroom. In the app, you can set it to automatically clean six seconds to 20 minutes after your cat uses it. The app has a daily rundown of the times your cat used it and the cat's weight, so for multi-cat households, you'll be able to distinguish which one is which (unless they're the exact same size). Tom removes his black suit and jaunts outside with the paper and 'tsk's at the dog while pulling at his leash. Under a picture: It shouldn't happen to a dog.say dogs. The movie's third part had just started and it is named " New leash on life". He gets annoyed, then he pulls Spike over the window to see the film and lifts Spike up so his head is over the windowsill and Spike can see the movie. Jerry runs next to Spike and sees the door being slammed. Before Butch can to kick him, Jerry runs away, causing Butch slip and fall down. But Jerry crawls out of mail slot and runs away. Butch yells: " Excuuuuse me!" and runs to kick Jerry away from there.

When he turns around again, Tom sits on the top of his extended fishing pole. Spike wakes up and looks around, but does not see anyone, as Tom hides behind Spike as the bulldog moves around. Spike licks the leg and takes a bite into it this being Tom’s leg, it causes the cat to scream. Tom tries to get away, but Spike thinks Tom’s leg is a bone and grabs at it a second time. Tom's feline friends ( Butch, Topsy and Lightning) peek over a fence and then Butch whistles.
