But director @upendrasidhaye an award winning writer debuts with a film that is refreshingly different. It's a simple story but has a distinctive freshness to it that leaves you with a smile as you exit the cinema. @ameyzone is in top form & plays Nachiket with heartfelt sincerity and amazing restraint. You feel for him as he is one of us. The best thing about Girlfriend is it's slice of life approach. @saietamhankar is such a brilliant casting choice. She has transformed herself in the last couple of years and seems to be ageing backwards. She injects Alisha with the right amount of mystery and cuteness. @rasika123s as Nachya's office buddy is a hoot. @isha_keskar as Nachya's bestie's wife adds just the right shade of grey to her role. Nachya's buddies @suyogsrg & @udaynene are his voice of reason & are really nice as the supportive best friends. Sagar Deshmukh plays Nachya's boss with the required sarcasm & toughness. Yatin Karyekar & Kavita Lad are the kind of parents you wish for. @pratyanchanarale plays Baby with amazing fun! The music by Jasraj Joshi, Hrishikesh Datar & Saurabh Bhalerao is intensely soulful & funky. This is the kind of film you would want to watch to uplift your mood on a gloomy day.
