The Osix Family is getting a remake

Formerly a story directed ask blog being dubbed on the YouTube channel named "studioPENCIL" - The Osix Family will now become a voice acted illustrated series on my own YouTube channel: Smiscee.

Now what will happen to the tumblr itself?

All the old comics will be deleted (as all can be found in the old episodes itself) from the blog (on July 3 PST). What will be in the blog are short comics, official art, and puzzles that contain hints and pieces of lore for the fellow enjoyers to immerse in.

It's been five years since I have started the blog, and in those five years were hard work, sacrifices, tears, and an endless amount of rewriting. It's crazy how it all started with an index finger, my mom's phone, and a dream. Now I'm here with a tablet, a stylus pen, my beloved voice actors with their oustanding performances, and two reliable co-writers who share my passion and dream @alexusespido-dod and @notarkanoria. I thank them for lending me their hands, and I thank little me for fighting and never giving up despite the conditions she was put in.

I also thank my audience, who waited patiently, shared my story with others, and most importantly - enjoy it. I can't promise that this remake would be the "most amazing story that's ever there!" but I can promise I'll give it my all and present the best.

I was looking through the canva presentation of all of the reference sheets and since Scarlet since her element is death can only die naturally and the other girl can turn into water. Does that mean that they were Born. ( or spawned since most are rebirths ) with there elements?

Pretty much! Their elements aren't as strong then as they're young, they fully bloom when they're older (pre-teens typically..)

For Scarlet, she kept accidentally killing random animals and plants with just a touch. Confused Felicia a lot and took her two whole days to realise the little one got her element from Oswen (who was stuck in a forced marriage around the time)

She has a kill count against her will 🤷‍♀️

I was debating if I should post this because I was wondering if this would be spoilers, but I settled that this is pretty much just general knowledge so here we go

A lot of this will be explained in the series soon so I'll just go straight to the point

Origins of Elements are SPOILERS and will be learned soon in the series. Elements are divided into two types, the Reality types and the Fantasy types.

In earlier generations, Vestia had only two elements which were Fantasy and Reality, that were later on divided as they were passed from generation to generation.

Elements have their "full use" which is when weapons are used, or their "basic use" which is their smallest form without weapons. Those that don't need a weapon are typically the easiest to harnest (and in their blood/natural). However it is most recommended to use a weapon, it is the stabilizer.

Reality types:

1. Flora -> This element is able to manipulate the growth and movement of plantlife around them. Their basic use is just growing flowers. Fairies usually have this element.

2. Earth -> Pretty self explanatory, dirty, rocks, sand. Basic use is being able to move specks of dust, dirt, and sand in the air and such.

3. Water -> Self explanatory as well. Mermaids/men (like Del who is a half mermen) are a natural to this, they are protectors of the sea. For other vestians, they are able to turn into water themself. Some vestians can manipulate the water into becoming ice. Their basic use is being able to turn only parts of themselves into water, or move bits of water around. Mermaids/men don't need weapons when it comes to moving water, as this is in their blood 🤷‍♀️ they just turn the water into their weapons.

4. Metal -> They're called Benders, they're the same as Mermaids/men but with Metal, which is why Zach and Miss Dollface appear with armor only and no weapons visible. Same basic use.

5. Weather -> This element manipulates the weather around an opponent. Their basic use is the wind.

6. Calamity -> A non peaceful version of Weather, this deals with earthquakes, thunderbolts, hurricanes, etc. Basic use is a tiny hurricane and small thunderbolts.

7. Fire -> It's not as easy as just "summoning fire." People with this element has to be in an area under the sun or somewhere warm to manipulate the heat into fire.

8. Death -> Users are immune to poison, stab wounds, etc. and can only die of old age, however they can still feel the pain, so it's kind of a curse. That's their basic use. Their full use is being able to inflict opponents with the same poisons and such they have experienced with beforehand, and the opponents experience the pain of the basic use. Talk about torture.

9. Life -> Their basic use is looking into the eyes of their opponent and being able to control their movements or look into their memories. They can't read the mind, that's Scripture. Their full use is being able to control people once shot with their magic. You can see. Hand hovering over them (like the hands in Carla's sprite) like a puppeteer. They can also shoot at where the opponent is and have a bunch of arms be summoned and hold them down.

Fantasy types:

1. Mirage -> This element is able to summon illusions and distort surroundings. Basic use is shapeshifting. Users either use the general use have their own technique. Shiela has the general use of Mirage where she can distort her surroundings or create illusions. Max's technique involves summoning dopplegangers of people he knows from his cards and control them like puppets, he can also levitate his cards and use them as attacks. Collin, while using basic attack magic (his guns), can temporarily shapeshift an object into a gun. His floating shapeshifted guns follows the direction of where his main gun is pointing at. Shapeshifting and illusions disappear when touched.

2. Scripture -> Users are able to read thoughts as the basic use. Other than that, this element involves summoning words from the thoughts of people around them and shooting them like bullets or blades at their opponent. These words sound with the voice of the person it was taken from. The appearance of these words differ in the character's ethnicity. For example, Courtney is Filipino, so the word she takes are translated in tagalog and written in Baybayin - an ancient Filipino writing system.

3. Alteration -> Users are able to alter objects into different forms. For example a wooden chair into a wooden table, broken glass into glass spears. Their basic use is summoning small portals.

4. Dreams -> Users are able to summon what they deeply desire in the moment (ex. Barrier). Its a simple description but magical in action. Basic use is summoning little scenarios and such on their palms.

5. Nightmares -> The complete opposite. Instead they summon what deeply haunts their opponent.

6. Manipulation -> Basically Telekinesis. Instead of controlling people they're controlling objects. Some users tend to make their own technique like puppetry.

There are the last two elements of course, which are Fantasy and Reality. Reality are all of the Reality type elements as one, Fantasy all the fantasy types as one. However, not a single person in the younger generations has that element anymore. Oswen and Felicia are the last two to have such elements.

Another I'd like to add is that no one can be both a purifier and a slayer, being either takes up a lot of magical energy. People prefer fighting in teams. Though there are guardians, who are both, but they're old as hell (and immortal), a few, and its a VERY difficult job. Only two people in recent generations were the last to become Guardians.
