Hi everyone! Here’s a little peek inside my room in Ziskind House~
The top picture is my view over the courtyard between Ziskind and Cutter, our twin dorm - you can also see my ivy plant, my heather plant, and a little elephant figurine that was a gift from a dear friend. I also have an aloe plant that’s hiding a bit below the frame.
On the walls you can find stickers (dutifully hung with tape rather than directly stuck), pictures of favorite musicians, a booklet from an exhibit at the Renwick Gallery, and of course ... string lights! The big map is an ongoing thing that I add things to as I find them - there’s a sticker from the first time I voted (so amazing), quotes I like, postcards, and concert and museum tickets.
I also brought some of my favorite CDs and books, as well as some I haven’t read yet! On top of my desk, there’s lots of school notebooks, books I’m reading for class, a huge stack of newspaper articles that my dad sent me, assorted school supplies, and photos of friends and family. I have a few containers and utensils, and some snacks hidden away in my desk drawers.
Ziskind is a pretty great house so far! Even though I’m in a double, the room is really big, plus we have TWO of those huge windows - they’re great for letting in morning sunlight. There’s also a really great dresser/mirror/medicine cabinet/wardrobe combo. The house community is super laid-back and welcoming, and we have air-conditioning, which is fantastic in the weirdly long summer that’s going on right now.
