smokerthoughts replied to your post: tbh....
i was thinking about that after i posted, and i think they are the exception, not the rule. there's some exception to the original round of fashion bloggers. him, tavi, rumi (though she is skinny, but wasn't anywhere near as "refined" in weight and looks as she is now) and a handful of others. they started something when there wasn't anything to be compared to, so in a way they are the exceptions.
before they became famous, they blogged for the sheer passion of blogging about fashion. many couldn't afford fancy things (with the exception of Bryan Boy).
after them, then came the second round of fashion bloggers, the people who had the money and could access rare and expensive clothes. (i am not famous or whatever, but this is the round i consider myself in) they didn't need to be hot, (but it helped - i.e. Pelayo Diaz/KateLovesMe) they just needed to be different from what was there already (i.e. ManRepeller)
then the third and current wave of fashion bloggers, everyone has a Celine bag, a Birkin, or a Givenchy print shirt, or an ombre this or that - that the only real way to differentiate wealthy bloggers between each other, is their physical looks. and this, is where OscarPRGirl, Upcloseandstylish (on Instagram) and others rose to fame - because not only did they have the access to a fancy wardrobe, it looked fantastic on them because they had model like bodies.
but to be completely honest, i think that the fashion blogging world doesnt really have anythere to go now, and is going to pop within the next few years - 5 max. i might be wrong, who knows?
