   Today I stopped and had a quiet afternoon smoke at my favorite spot with my latest Ebay purchase.  a Kaywoodie 12B Drinkless Bulldog style pipe with a saddle bit.  I could be wrong but i believe this pipe to be from the 1970′s judging by the heavy lacquer finish.      I own several Kaywoodies but this one feels light when compared to the other’s and the bowl seemed to get quite hot.  I have read that Kaywoodies from the 1970′s weren’t the greatest but non the less I figured it would be a nice addition to the collection.         Today’s tobacco of choice is Dunhill’s Elizabethan Mixture, a meduim aromatic blend of Virginias and Perique for a smooth yet spicy treat on the palette.    Sorry for the dark photo’s but with forest fire’s all around it quite hazy and ash is falling like snow.

Relaxing this afternoon with my Dr. Grabow Regal, some Dunhill My Mixture 965. And my Charred Ember & oak pipe roll. I love this pipe roll, it’s a little pricey but nice quality.

A couple of my more costly pipes. On the left is my Graco rusticated Duet. It has a large acorn bowl. On the right is my Savinelli Roma rustic 673 with a lucite stem.

On the left is my refurbished 1937 Kaywoodie 5193 medium billiard bowl with a saddle bit stem. On the right is my mid 1940s Kaywoodie #45 Flame Grain Octagonal Billiard that still has the stinger intact. I love old American pipes. When I see a old beat up pipe at a antique shop I always wonder it’s back story. Rarely do I ever get to know their back stories but for these two pipes I do. These two pipes were owned by a WWII veteran that bought both of these pipes brand new and smoked Carter Hall or Half & Half nearly everyday I was lucky enough to run into him at the antique shop on one of my other visits and I couldn’t be more honored to be the current owner of these two pipes.

A nice Labor day smoke after laboring all morning. The pipe is a Seville Filter that was another antique shop find and if I have done my research right Seville's are a American pipe that is a Mastercraft seconds pipe. Not sure of what decade the pipe was made but it is a fine little smoker. Today's choice of tobacco is Davidoff English Mixture. A good mild aromatic smoke made up of Virginia's, Burley, a hint of Latakia, and a touch of perique. The room not is mild and pleasant, with a mild nicotine hit. A great early afternoon smoke.

Here’s a few of my Dr. Grabows, from left to right. Riviera yellow Spade ( a push stem stinger). A 1960s ish Belvedere with a wire style rustication that I had to refurbish down to bare briar and restain. And last but not least my Regal. I found all of these at antique shops. The Belvedere was in the worst shape out of all of them, it had so much cake in the bowl you couldn’t put anything in it. The other two pipes were still pretty new when I found them.

Stopped and had a pleasant pipe smoke at a park today with my Graco Duet. Filled with Frog Morton. Across the Pond
