On Saturday night in the smoking tent I was enjoying a smoke with a man named Ric Farrah, who specializes in pipe repair but was dabbling in pipe making and he showed me a few of his Briarville creations, which are made of thirty year aged briar. This series one Rhodesian really caught my eye and I bought it from him on sight. What really made me want it was the beautiful grain, which this picture doesn’t do justice,I’ll have a better image in the future.

George Braunsdorf, left, 6 feet 4 inches and Joe Damone, 5 feet 1 inch, demonstrate a pipe called the “Double Ender” in New York, June 2, 1949. According to its manufacturer, the pipe was designed as a means of conserving tobacco by a couple of pipe smokers down on their luck, or, sharing a smoke at a ball game.
