so any last minute predictions for season 3? or a season 3 wishlist?
This is a wild shot in the dark and no idea if it’s going to be canon but if Pink Ears does turn out to be a dark counterpart of Hunk, I really like the idea of her being highly educated in and opinionated on different types of firearms.
Mostly I just really want to see the Generals in action? The show’s done a really good job of giving us interesting and multifaceted antagonists and all the trailers seem to suggest Lotor and the Generals have a kind of sync and familiarity that’s way closer to how Team Voltron itself operates- so we could basically have Team Voltron and an opposing team going head-to-head, engaging, and opposing each other, which will make for some really interesting dynamics.
Because our most recent trailer suggests Lotor’s gonna hit the ground kicking butt, and while said trailer just chalks this up to Lotor- the feeling I really get from Lotor, and the reason I’ve put him as a Lance-analogue rather than another/divergent Shiro analogue is I don’t think Lotor is a solitary juggernaut the way Zarkon is.
I’m willing to bet that while Lotor is talented, and capable, he’s not superhuman- and where Lotor’s real genius and aptitude lies, why he’s so dangerous to the team- is because, just like Lance, Lotor’s been fishing around for people who catch his interest. Other people with talents that he persistently spoke to, got to know, and got along with.
Basically I’m going to bet good money that the reason why Lotor’s able to throw the team for a loop so easily is partially that they’re operating without Shiro- and partially that Lotor and his Generals form a team each of whom would be difficult-but-manageable on their own...
...But they don’t fight on their own. They’re going to be watching each others’ backs, moving and fighting as a group. I made this post a while ago that we might see Lotor and his Generals doing their own version of one of those split-screen Moments Of Triumph the team has had before- and the whole reason those moments are powerful is because they’re instances of five people operating in sync with relatively singular focus. It’s a moment when Voltron really is operating like one body with five heads.
So not only would it be really cool to see Lotor doing it- but it’d tell us we’re in real trouble because they’re up against another Voltron, and that teamwork is not so easily broken.
