Decades Legacy: 1890 in Summary
Okay this took me longer than I would like to admit, but I've finally gotten back to playing my decades save!
Hello friends! I’m very extra and I’ve decided to create a new save file to start off my decades challenge! I’ll be using rules that @cutecoffeegal updated, but with a lot of added details because I like very nerdy gameplay! My rules are mainly inspired by the amazing @missy-hissy , so I definitely recommend checking out their blog as well!
I’m trying a rotational style, so I’ll have 5 different stories going in the save file. This month, I will be sharing the backstories of these households as well as the townies and builds I’ve created. I tend to start legacies and not make it past 3 generations, so I’m really looking forward to trying this new way of playing!
The first story will be the Parker legacy which I’ll post this week, so follow me on here and Twitter (@smorglesims) to get updates on my challenge ❤️

Parker Legacy: Summer pt 1
Dearest Lottie,
I hope this letter finds you well. It has been a difficult summer here, as I’m sure you can imagine. Only a few weeks after grieving the loss of Hazel and Virginia, I lost my parents. They were very old and ready to rest, but I can’t help but feel alone now. My sisters have been a great comfort to me in these trying times...I hope your sisters are treating you well.
I am so looking forward to going back to school and seeing you, home is filled with sadness for now.
Please write soon!
Regards,
Ada Carrie

Rayne Legacy: Unions
Winter, 1890:
Ernest was determined to help the workers in his fathers shop get their rights, but he was an idealistic 19-year-old without any real experience. He decided the best place to start would be to talk to them and see what Fritz had already talked to them about. So, Ernest spent weeks talking with the workers and meeting in secret to discuss their working conditions.

Parker Legacy: Poems and Stars
Fall, 1890:
In an effort to distract Olive from the sadness of having to live at school with her sister gone, Ada and Lottie concocted a plan: Lottie would write her a book of poems and Ada would sneak her out past dark to go stargazing. They knew nothing could take away her pain, but they had to try.
Lottie got to work on writing her book for Olive. She knew Olive was a fan of her romance stories, but she was a bit worried about how she’d feel about her poems. My poetry isn’t very good, Lottie thought. How can I expect to write something good enough to cheer up Olive? I’ve gotten myself in quite a bind. Despite her worries, Lottie finished her book and wrapped it in pretty paper to give to Olive later that night.
Meanwhile, Ada was trying to convince Olive of the merits of stargazing.
“C’mon, Olive! It’ll be fun, I promise,” Ada pleaded.
“Don't you think Miss Parker will be cross with us for going out after dark?”
“She’ll never know! You know how she likes her sleep. Besides, what’s the worst that can happen? We’ll only be out by the garden.”
“Okay...yes, I suppose you’re right. Let’s do it.”
So the girls waited until Miss Parker had gone to bed and then crept out to the garden. They then found a perfect spot and began to point out stars to each other.
“Wow.” Olive was speechless. Thirteen years on this earth and she had never noticed how beautiful the night sky was. The wonder she felt looking at the constellations above...it was indescribable. She couldn’t focus on anything Ada was saying to her, but she felt a wave of gratitude come over her thinking about how hard Ada was trying to cheer her up. And since she didn’t have the words to say it quite yet, she simply held Ada’s hand and squeezed it tight. Ada squeezed her hand right back, and they both knew how the other was feeling without having to say a word.

Parker Legacy: Returning
Fall, 1890:
Fall came and, soon enough, it was time for the girls to return to school. It was strange living there without Hazel and Virginia, but they did their best to cope.
Ada, Lottie, and Olive had become an inseparable trio, spending all of their time doing homework and playing cards. Ada and Lottie had always been best friends (and Lottie had taken a liking to Olive last year when she expressed interest in her stories), but now they were including Olive and all growing closer than ever.
While the other three formed their own little squad, Lydia did the opposite. She retreated from the world even more, afraid to befriend anybody that might meet as untimely an end as the others. She occasionally did homework with the others, but she spent the majority of her time singing in the practice room.
